So question, I am working on a few a few videos at the moment for dentist as they will be the niche I want to focus on. Anyway, let's say there are 20 dentist I send videos to and 10 of them are from city XYZ and the other 10 are from city ABC. Would you guys only work with two dentist for SEO?

I want to make sure in the video I saw, I will only work with two/three dentist to help them reach page 1 on Google for more exposure or something along those lines.

You can work with as many dentists as you want to, problems will only occur if you target the same keywords with multiple different dentists.

I prefer to work with 1 person from each industry in any given city, but that's more of a moral thing than anything else.

i do the same - one business per niche per city... I wouldn't like to compete with myself on the first page ))

Now you guys would only work with 1 person from each industry as far as SEO, not web design, correct?

I plan on offering web hosting as well and other services like graphics.

      right - just SEO
anyone deserves a good website, so I will help anyone with that task.

Now if they later ask me to do SEO and I am already working with someone in that city I will either tell them I cant or offer to target nearest city and that's easy to do with contractor type businesses.

I agree with massiveray. When you work with more than one people in the same niche, then you will have a conflict of interest when doing keyword selection.

In my opinion, all SEO experts should practice SEO exclusivity so as not to have any conflicts with their clients especially if they are dealing with particular keywords that are highly specific for a certain niche.

As for web design, it really is a matter of what the clients like for their website so I don't think there will be any issues even if your clients are competing against each other. That's just my opinion though.

I agree with everyone mainly because of what LoraLane said, “I wouldn't like to compete with myself on the first page.”

However, it depends upon the type of SEO work I’m doing. If it’s a one time, included in the website type SEO, then I will work with multiple companies in the same niche. As this is just the small type, on-page SEO work.

If it’s someone who pays me monthly to do SEO/Rank building work, I generally only work with one person per niche, per city.

For everything else, I don’t offer any kind of exclusive packages. For example, my company has done multiple websites for different Real Estate agents in my area. It’s much easier to go to the meetings and show people previous sites and say, “When I was working with this agent, we did blah blah.”

These are videos showing them their problem, how their competition outranks them, etc.

depend on your contract and each client keyword/requirement. If they are require to be exclusively with you, you can charge the premium amount for opportunity cost losing for the same niche which you cannot offer to other people.
