Anyone Ever Used Offline Magazines?

Wanting to know if anyone has experience with using offline magazines to promote affiliate or CPA offers?

I know that they can be expensive to advertise in, some charging upwards of 5K just for a half page or quarter page position.

you are right, it could be expensive, it really depends on the # of people that read it , market that targets, etc, I would do lots of findings before anything else,

Many magazines still offer classified ads in the back that are a great buy and highly read. Find titles that match your keyword and craft a compelling offer to get visitors to your site or call a toll-free message.

Many magazines I've worked on charge as little as $.50 per word per issue. No creative to deal with; just email your copy.

I used to have great results with these little ads and a toll-free, recorded message. Haven't done that for years, though. Maybe it's time to start up a classified campaign.

Did you ever directly promote affiliate or CPA offers?

You basically answered your own question. Just crunch the numbers. A few years ago the response rate on magazines ads were 0.17% (it could be lower now, but at least you have a number to crunch). Then figure out what the cost of the magazine ad would have to be (negotiated) in order for you to make any money. If you can't get the numbers to line up then you can't test it and no sense going any farther.

Im confused ... but then again I am an idiot.

Are you saying not to test because of what someone/something says?

What's the actual cost of the ad you want to place?
What's the circulation of the magazine?
What's your profit on your CPA offer?

Answer those 3 questions and I can tell you if your ad is worth testing. (You should be able to figure out the answer for yourself too.)

you need to check all their readers behavior and demographic because even reach that huge amount of people but the conversion might not be that high .
Make sure the ads able to return more than your 5k .
I never saw affiliate program in magazine ...you might be the 1st because it usually high cost and return might not get immediately.
One insertion to expect sales is hard .
