Need help with google places

Hello warriors,

I need help with google places (or google local I guess) I have a client whose business had recently moved. I claimed his old listing, verified the listing by phone (I guess because they could call the phone # that was there) and updated it with new address, pics and description.

It's been several weeks now, Google has updated the description and pictures, but still shows the old location if you try to Google the business. When I go to the listing and click edit this page/listing, it shows the correct location.
So basically it has the correct location on the back end, but Google has not actually updated it as far as search results go.

Any one has any idea on how to rectify this situation other than just making a new listing with the new location?
I see when I try to edit location it says "Note: if you change the address additional varifications by phone or mail are required" But I don't see how to actually trigger those additional varifications or anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am stuck with this problem and it's really annoying. Since my only explanation is that Google is just being slow to update the address (but it's been weeks) which isn't what my client wants to hear.

I have a client whose Google Places page "disappeared" about a week ago...you can see it when you login to his account...but doesnt show up on search and says "this location not supported" when you "view this listing" within his dashboard.....

Hope you figure out yours...you probably just need to wait for the changes...

      Good luck!!!!

Google Places is no more. You need to use your Google+ to get onto Google Local.

It seems they merged the google places backend with something similar in the Google+. I signed up for Google+ but when I try to edit the listing there, I get to the same page I'd normally get when trying to edit the google places listing - the one with all the information correct.

I guess maybe Google is just slow to update, which sucks. Anyone has any info on the "If you change the location additional confirmation is required" part? I see no explanation what this additional confirmation might be, or how to get Google to do it (if the need to do it before they update the listing with the new location)

What I have seen is some strange mistakes in the new Google Local pages that were created from the old Google Places accounts, wrong categories and such, and there is certainly a lag that is frustrating. I also have seen info on the inside of the listing that doesn't match the outside and I guess we just have to wait for Google to work through it... good times!
