100 Flyers 18 Uniques. What would you do?

Running a bit of a sneaky test.

I cant say too much for obvious reasons.

But Lets just say I had a targeted bunch of people that I gave a physical flyer too.

I'd say that around 50 probably read it (thats just a guess) and from those I had 18 unique views.

The question now is. Do I go for 1000 flyers and keep testing?

The original flyers, disribution and offer cost me under $3

The 1000 will cost me a little more.

What would you do?

Well do you have a system in place to monetize or at least capture a targeted lead?
Based on the initial investment, 1000 will cost around $30, right?

Go for it, test, test, test!

It depends upon you. If you think, it spoils you time and money, then stop going for this and if not then obviously go for it. Best of luck...

IMO 18% response on a flyer is very good so I'd continue with it. Don't forget to use tracking.

The 1,000 should only cost you $30 based on your original test. Let's say $50 for errors and unforeseen obstacles.

$50 for a test and an 18% response rate as DejanM pointed out is pittance. I'd run it with 5,000.

Of course you don't mention your product/service cost, so it's hard to know if closing 20% of the 18% of responses would break even. What you actually do with the 18% responding (other than the obvious "sell them something") is also important.

Let us know how the second test went...

I have not the slightest idea... the reason being, not enough info. Care to share what it is you're doing? Offer? Etc.

If it's a "broad appeal" offer, rock it with an EDDM drop and get some real stats. With only 100 fliers, the stats don't hold weight - they can't.

What do you get per a conversion? Who are you targeting and why? Those are two essential questions that can help towards your success. If you don't get much money per a conversion it is not going to be worth it and then if you aren't targeting the right people, you won't get as good of a result. Also, 100 flyers is a TINY sample size if the people are not targeted at all.

I would say that you shouldn't crank it up to 1000 just yet. The LOLN means you are probably going to get a lower number of conversions the more you scale it up. Before you go and test on 1000 flyers, try testing 100 more again. If you only get 2% conversion, test it again. Testing 5 sets of 100 flyers is going to be half as expensive as testing 1000 flyers at once. If 4 out of your 5 sets give you a 2-4% conversion rate and only 1 gave you 18% then I'd write it off as an outlier and adjust your strategy accordingly.

Are you targeting specific people? If your prospects are targeted you probably have a more accurate number off of just one test but if they're not targeted then you might have just gotten lucky.

Give a few more tests of 100 flyers a shot before you ramp it up to 1000.

Also, how easy is it to scale this trial up to 1000? If you're handing out 100 flyers and it takes you 30 minutes, 1000 flyers is going to take you 5 hours or a lot more money to outsource.

Another vague and weak contribution from the OP ....

You come to the forum asking for help, yet you don't answer any of the willing mentor's questions.

        Pfff...

100 flyers, 18 uniques and apparently zero conversions. What would I do? Figure out how to make my page convert. That might mean adding a split test before you distribute 1,000 flyers.

      @Fortune500Designs,

      Try www gotprint com

Really decent deals. If you don't pay for rush shipping their delivery schedule isn't as prompt as you might expect. But they're very reliable I've been using them for about 10 years now and order somewhere in the region of 10K fliers a month from them.

Just posting back with an update:

In the end it was a total of 28 views.

28% ain't bad for $3 and some time.

        Only no sales as yet

I'll update again once new test campaign is complete.

Ouch, low conversions. Maybe a more targeted audience, obviously.

      Why do you say that?

      Its only 28 views.

You couldn't seriously expect sales after 28 views right?

Maybe after 1000 but not 28.

You're absolutely right.... Which is why I was saying that not enough was sent out to give you good stats. They don't mean anything. They simply can't.

Mailing 1000 hits the g-spot as far as a test and stats go.

You can also talk to store owners, some will let you put some flyers up on their windows for a small fee and some for free.
I'm kind of doing something a little different. Thanks

I occasionally get random traffic on my domains that are and always have been, dormant.

Is there a chance that a few of these visitors are in fact just random?
Or in fact just you accessing from different devices, networks etc.

Just out of interest and thinking of another discussion happening elsewhere(http://www.warriorforum.com/offline-...our-sites.html), have you included the price on the flyers or just general info and a call to action?

That's actually a really good point.

On this one, no I have not.

This is a bit of a unique one where I have leveraged off of something political and in the media at the moment so I'm more so targeting interest. But I may trial some different copy and filter out Tyre kickers with a price.
