Anyways so I've ran into this guy who has a relatively popular restaurant in the area. He has a lot of TV's in his restaurant and he was telling me that when there isn't a game on, he finds it hard to have something to play on the TV. After I made his website, he wanted me to find a way to put his site on the TV's, but I told him that wouldn't be a good idea since the customers can't really interact with it.
So . . . I suggested how about we make a "visual menu" which would be like a video slide show of all the different plates he has, and maybe add some music, and let it loop on some of the TV's when there is nothing else interesting on. I had already done the work, and taken pictures of his dishes and did a "visual menu" (slider and gallery) on his site, so I thought to myself it would be a piece of cake.
So that was my new add-on for him, and from now on I will offer local restaurants a "visual menu" service. All you really have to do is take some pictures of their food, edit them, add titles and music, and save it as a video on an SD card. Most TV's have SD card slots.
The cost of this is pretty much your time to take the pictures and like $10 for a 512 or 1 GB SD card. Add some music and titles, and bingo! New add-on to websites, and seo service. I had originally asked my customer for an extra $500, but he added other monthly services like social media management so we agreed on $400.
Today I suggested the idea to another one of my customers, and he really liked it, and he doesn't have TV's with SD slots, but he said he would buy new ones in order for this to work in his restaurant too! I think once you tell them " hey bob down the road is doing this" it turns a light bulb in their head. I have only tried this with 2 customers, so by no means am I an expert, but I think I'm onto something. Still thinking about packages and pricing for this, any suggestions or ideas on how to improve this?
