I touched upon this in my other thread, but I feel it's valuable enough to make another thread about it. If you're selling websites or mobile websites, you can stop leaving a lot of money on the table by doing payment plans for those businesses who can't afford to pay you all at once.
A Tip To Increase Your Closing Rate for Website Work

I touched upon this in my other thread, but I feel it's valuable enough to make another thread about it.
If you're selling websites or mobile websites, you can stop leaving a lot of money on the table by doing payment plans for those businesses who can't afford to pay you all at once.
When I offer website design, I always try to get 100% of the fee upfront if it's less than $1,000. If it's $1,000+, 50% deposit.
If they can't afford $500 at the meeting and want to wait a little, I suggest a monthly installment plan. If it's a $1,400 project, I will take $200 a month for 7 months no problem. I use Authorize.net's monthly recurring billing option and capture their credit card. They are billed monthly without me having to do anything at all. I have been sleeping SOOO well knowing that each month, there's a nice sum getting deposited into my bank account for work that was done 3+months ago.
It's not as glamorous or sexy as getting a massive check all up front, but having 10 websites on installment plans depositing $2000 into your bank account BEFORE you do any sales that month is very satisfying. It's the bread and butter of my business.
