You Tube Channel Optimization For Offline

I want to set up a you tube video channel for an offline business that is in a different town to me. It will be used to promote the business with you tube videos to page one ranking. My ip address will obviously be different from the town the business is in.

Will Google penalize the channel and make the videos more difficult to rank if it notices a different ip address being used to login and upload video?

Any advice and tips would be welcome.

    Good idea.

    While I don't really "know" the answer, I will say that you are going to be fine.


    To be honest, if it were me I wouldn't even mess with the different IP address...I really don't think YT is going to care one bit.

        You may want to consider this:

        Have your customer setup a google email address that you share just for the project and work it from there.

    This will have absolutey no effect on your rank.

    Ip adresses and SEO haven't the slightest of things to do with eachother.

    I agree with wally you should be fine. Just try to use your main keyword as your username and optimize your channel and videos for your keywords.

    I would suppose that it will not have any effect... because
    it is pretty common for an offline business to outsource this kinda work (makes no sense to punish people for that) ...and you could easily own the business yourself and manage it from different locations... no way for G to know...and again makes no sense to punish you.

    If it's your business and your YT channel I don't see why it would make a difference. It gets a bit more complicated when you're trying to use a clients YT account for them.
