How Important and Effective it is to have a Business/Calling Card?

Is it just me or there isn't a lot of people using business card anymore especially in Internet Marketing World?

I just noticed that few people are using Business cards nowadays and and those who usually do are Lawyers, architects and doctors.

I just think it is still important to have one, especially if you are try to marketing your business through words of mouth.

Warriors what to you think?

:p

Definitely still useful. Clients will often ask for a card, not sure how they'd feel about a note scrawled on a napkin.

Yes, I just thought it would look funny and nonprofessional to scribble your contact information in the first writing material you can get your hand to because you do not have any decent business card to give away, especially if your are in a trainings, conferences and seminar where you would meet a lot of people.

GO. MOVE. Keep GOING! Even with the smallest steps and slower paces, the important thing is you are NOT STOPPING! You'll get there!

I've scribbled MANY a note on a napkin, spare piece of paper laying around, back of a magazine, etc. Made many a sale too! WHAT your selling (and it's BENEFITS) and your ability to present it ... will trump the business card. That's been my experience. Your mileage may vary.

I think that they're great, and I plan on having some printed ASAP. Even if you can't manage to close a sale with an offline client, they can still refer to their card if they ever change their mind. Or better, refer you to their clientele.

Plus, it just shows you in a more professional light. If you offer someone a clean, professional card they will feel as though you're more reputable and therefore trust your opinions and such more.

Business cards are DEFINITELY still relevant. While the things on the card may be changing (e.g. twitter handles and facebook information) the element of the card itself should still be a staple as an everyday sales practice if you ask me.

Unless you are NEVER face-to-face with a potential client or a potential referral source, you need to have business cards. There is no substitute.

You may miss an important opportunity if you don't carry one. I was meeting with one client when another person in a different business was passing by and when I left to the parking lot he came up to me and asked if I had any "cards" so he could hand them out to people who have asked him about the very business I do. I just so happened to have a card on me and well he wanted a small stack, wow glad I had them. You can make some pretty nice cards at vistaprint.com. I have 3 photos on mine and it really catches the eye, people stare at them they are so beautiful. lol:-)

Definitely a must-have. We may be in the electronic age, but the good, old business card is still important when getting in touch with clients. Just try attending conferences, tradeshows, and seminars and you’ll realize just how important business cards are. With today’s cut-throat competition, professional business cards will be your distinguishing mark—your lifeline. I came across this article that highlights just how relevant business cards are: printedgenius.com/are-business-cards-still-relevant/. Might help stress the relevance of business cards in today’s highly competitive business world.

They are vital. I keep them everywhere. In my wallet, in my car, in my fiancées purse. Not carrying them cold cause a lot of missed opportunities.
