Payment by e transfer

Not sure if this is just a Canadian thing, but I have been paid by e-transfer. All the payor required was my email, I received the email, clicked on a link inside it took me to a page to select my bank. Logged in and the money was there. Easiest method for receiving, I know all the big banks in Canada are on board, cost for payor, $1.50, for the recipient it is free and takes literally 10 seconds.

  • is there a website we could look at and see if US banks are mentioned?

    Would be easier to accept payments from customers and not have to pay high paypal fees.

  • That is pretty cool, I'd love to know what service your client used.

    I used to have one in the US but they stopped working with US customers about a year ago, now I'm stuck with good old PayPal

  • It is called interac e-transfer, my client just logged into his online banking entered in some details and my email addy, and he was done. Like I said before I know all the major banks in Canada support this, apparently the Americans are going to have to raise a stink to get this too. I have a paypal acct, but a transfer to or from my bank acct takes a week. This takes 10 seconds, light years ahead.
