Hey all, I've just been building my list of businesses to call for Monday, and I've been using Manta.com to target businesses that have less than 10 employees and don't have a website. If any of you have used Manta in the past, when it says "No information found" next to the website area, has that, in your experience, been pretty accurate (meaning they did, in fact, have no website)?

I'm pretty sure most of Manta is user generated profiles. If nothing was put in the website field, try searching google for the company. If nothing comes up, I'd say it's safe to assume they don't have one.

That's good to know... been reading about people using Manta, and it seems like it's great but hadn't heard about it's accuracy. I really like how it usually lists owner's names, too! Thanks a bunch for your response.

You bet! Always willing to lend a hand when I can. Like I said, I'm "pretty sure" it's user generated content, but I could be wrong. Hopefully some other members who are more familiar with it will chime in as well.

Additional input would be nice... regardless, I have been spot checking the ones that say they don't have a website, and for the most part, if it says no website, there is no website. Now I can only hope that they all put their cell phone numbers for the contact! LOL

As far as having or not having a site I have found it to be pretty accurate. However I'm not too sure about the addresses. I did a direct mail campaign based off info from manta and received several back because the address was incorrect.

Hmm, thank you for that information. At the moment the only reason I'm planning on calling them is because I am nearly broke. Once I get a couple sales using this method, I do plan on sending direct mail. However, with the $ earned from this I will probably buy a list from a reputable company. Thanks for that input!
