I can't help you with specific reccomendations, as I have hired my own outsourcers and I direct their activity. However, please be careful who you use. Make sure you understand about good SEO practices and only use a service that uses them.

There are too many companies offering low cost services that look promising and do deliver short term results. But if they are following bad practices your clients sites will not maintain the ranking results.

Just have a glance on the portfolio of the specified SEO firm to find out if the results are exactly in the position they have mentioned as their success in rankings. If not, they might have indulged in Black or Grey hat techniques.

Just be careful with some of the bigger companies. They have great customer service, and things like that, but the only drawback is with how Google is these days, you really have to be smart and aggressive with your SEO.

Well most of the big white label players have "packages" - meaning '5 articles a month, 10 directory submissions, etc." This stuff looks good to the client, but eventually they will not see rankings and new business.

There are many great resources here on WF that can streamline SEO for you and get awesome results for clients.

It boils down to your needs:

-Do you want a company that offers fancy packages, nice reporting, good backend support.

-Do you want a company that may not be as fancy, but gets way better results in terms of rankings and traffic.

No answer is right, and many people prefer the 1st option and many prefer the 2nd. Hope this helps.

Great post, Jeremy.

I think the problem with reports vs results come in when a reseller wants a standard list of deliverables that will go into a contract.

As a reseller, you'd need to communicate the impossibility of delivering the exact same report each month. In my experience, you'll get frustrated with being so restricted. You'll find yourself having to perform certain tasks that you know don't work anymore.

Good SEO sources will be changing tactics frequently enough to stay on top of results, and I think the best sources will provide a bare bones report, but will have some "secret sauce" that stays hush hush LOL

Ok what are the pros and cons of the two? I am not sure I understand what you mean by not as fancy. I thought you had a thread one time supporting reselling packages.

Maybe OP should ask, "who can you recommend to do services that he can resell and earn residual earnings from that initial client offering".

You should be able to find someone to work with, the problem is it is your reputation on the line, not theirs.
