I want to create websites for local oflline businesses.
There a lot of templates that I can use.

They also give away free vouchers:

Free adwords voucher (75 dollar)
Free facebook voucher (50 dollar)

I want to use wix.com software to create them?

What do you think about that?

  • Yes, selling websites is a very viable business. If you use the Search function, you'll find many posts about people who have successfully done so.

Here's a post on the greatest telemarketing forum on the planet that will help you.
  • Thanks this forum is very usefull. With kind people willing to help me out.

I am from the netherlands so I need a website that I can edit to my own language.
The offline products on here are English and you cant edit everything.
  • I am not talking about if the business is going to work or not. but if wix.com is a good source?
  • If I'm not mistaken (and I might be), if you use wix.com for the design you have to host it there. They aren't the cheapest option for hosting.

  • Personally, I would never use something that is not independently hosted, where I didn't have complete control over all of the content, no real ability to move it to another platform if I wanted... and no recourse if something went wrong.

Plus, last I checked, Wix was for the most part flash based... which... for certain things is not great.

How does this work for SEO purposes?
Do you actually OWN the content since it's on their server?
What are their terms of service for you doing this kind of thing since they're not technically a "hosting" company but some hybrid?
What if you need to access the hosting panel and edit or move the higher level internal files? I know it says "same as other companies..." but I highly doubt it.

Anyway, just something to think about. You can get the Google vouchers for your clients by joining Google Engage.

  • I am still stuck right now.

There are too many options for creating a website:

I can use wix.com type site
    Artisteer.
I can edit free css templates in Dreamweaver.

I dont know what to do right now. Its not allowing me to move on to the next step.

Somebody please help me? I need a webbuilder that can create templates voor local businesses.
  • No because at the end of the day Wix pretty much owns the website if I'm not mistaken. I'm also pretty sure their sitebuilder is proprietary, which means if you want to leave you'll be at a road block.

If you want to sell websites, start from the ground up learning how to build them. If you don't want to spend the time learning how to do it the correct way, then you shouldn't be selling websites.

Example - you base your business/career off of Wix.com, what do you do if they go out of business (hypothetically) and you have no idea how to work with websites other than a drag & drop website builder...?

What do you do when a customer needs a custom solution that Wix.com doesn't support?

What happens when there's a problem with a website and you don't know how to fix it? You mention editing via Dreamweaver, why not build from there?

I would recommend you rethink your business model.

    • Thank you for your honest post.

Then the best thing to do is learn how to create a website.
And maybe take a hosting reseller package right?

Where will I learn building websites?
Like Html, CSS. Do I need Photoshop skills?

I would like to create WordPress themes too because its easy to manage.

  • I use inkthemes.com by warrior, neeraga and theme rabbit by warrior jason x. Jason has released quite a number of theme series for many industries.

Both theme authors' products are quite simple to set up and offer quite a nice selection of niche/industry specific theme choices.
  • Never heard of wix - will have to check it out.

    GL OP!
  • wix.com is a right media for beginners for creating online business.

    Pretty nice idea.
It make your business smart and strong.
No matter what is the template is,you should make it resourceful by strong and update information.
Another suggestion please make it new ,use php and mysql.
  • If you go to the War Room, somebody posted for free his business plan for selling websites to offline clients. I haven't tried it yet, but boy it looks promising. It's called 'Offline Quick Cash.' He talks about finding businesses with bad websites, arranging to meet them at a coffee shop, and showing them on your laptop a website you already designed for them. The War Room costs money, but there's a lot of great stuff in there.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Why don't you use Wordpress and put all the necessary plugins to kill it for SEO and local marketing. Its stupid easy.
