New To Offline Marketing- Need Advice on Selling Wordpress Websites

I was wondering if anyone could advise me on the proper steps for building and selling Wordpress websites. I'm becoming heavily involved in offline marketing in my local area and really need to know how the process works.

For example, say that I have a client that wants me to set up a Wordpress website for them. Should they have a domain name first and then I just upload the Wordpress theme using that domain or is there a way that I can upload the Wordpress theme on another domain and then transfer it to theirs?

How would you approach the domain name and hosting issue with the client? Would you offer hosting services and if so, how much would you charge?

I know there's a lot of information in the forums but I'm having a tough time trying to find the answer to these particular questions. Is there a WSO on this subject?

    I don't understand what you are asking. You would use an existing domain if they have one, if they don't then you register one for them. Transfer the domain into your control and set the website up.

    If you don't know how to setup a basic website, I suggest you do a little bit more reading and gain some 'know how' before you offer this as a paid service..

    Edit: As far as hosting goes. Setup a reseller hosting account and host the website for them.

    Charge them monthly for hosting and maintenance. Charge what ever you like. What do you feel your time is worth?

    I guess I am not sure what specifically you are asking either.
    You need a reseller hosting account from somewhere like Host Gator.
    If they already have a domain name, then you just change the DNS to point at your hosting accout.
    If they don't have a domain name, then you register one and change the DNS (domain name servers) to point to your hosting account.
    Then you either use Fantastico, which is provided inside your CPanel (control panel/dashboard) of your hosting account and install WordPress or you manually install WP.

    Then once WP is installed, you install your theme.
    Add pages, add plug-ins, add content, and you are done.

    What to charge for hosting? No one can tell you. You have to decide. The Hostgator reseller account starts @ $20/month. Maybe you charge $20 to cover your fees, or maybe $10. Or you offer an update once a month so you charge $50-$75/month... or maybe you charge enough to cover the fee for hosting and they get it for free for the first year. It's up tp you.

    I've been an affiliate marketer for the past 2 years and have 15 websites up and running right now, so I know how to set up websites. I just needed a little guidance as to how to upload a website for another person as well as the best way to offer hosting services.

      My friend you have a couple of options, if you are good a getting new client I would recommend outsourcing this to someone who actually know how.

      The other is simple

      1. Get a reseller account from hostgator. - This is to sell hosting
      2. Become a namecheap affiliate - THis is to sell domain
      3. Build sites upload sites to you reseller account.
