Pizza Box Design UK

Hi there.

Im looking at designing my own Pizza box and placing adverts on their,etc. Does anyone know of anywhere in the U.K where i can either design a template online or even just a company that does printed Pizza boxes.

    Considering all pizza boxes are cuboid what design were you thinking of?

    Moreover, they only cost around 6p plain to 15p printed for a pizza place to buy from wholesalers so how would you undercut that?

    Have you thought about this properly?

          Is pizza boxes being cuboid an issue ?.I have seen some quite nice designs,
          with most of the box looking plain, with ad placements on the lid.

            Hi Philboy.

            You're right, im looking for a company where i can send my design template to, so they can create the boxes so i can sell advertising positions on them.

            So far i have seen standard templates such as pizza pictures and also the flame box but none with any custom made designs for my purpose.

              That would mean you are in direct competition with the current suppliers even if you and Phil think otherwise.

              The link he posted is just doing flyers and having a pizza place stick them on or in the box. No change of supplier required. Completely different thing. Much simpler.

                Attaching leaflets to box lids is one way of doing it. From memory, I seem to remember pizza boxes being offered for free to the pizza place, with the advertising revenue covering the costs.Could possibly even use the same pizza box supplier.

                I presumed the goal was to sell advertising space, where as I interpreted your response, as providing cheaper pizza boxes was the primary goal, by.undercutting wholesalers.

                  Okay I see where you are coming from.

                  He should stick to flyers. Cheaper test for him plus an Advertiser will pay the same for an Ad on the box or the flyer so why reduce your margins. Makes no sense. It is the number of eyeballs that matter here.

                  That woman, Midasman, Martin Buckley etc are or were doing flyers.

                  He can get A4 flyers quite cheaply. Much cheaper than he can get boxes which will need changing all the time due to Advertisers coming on board or dropping off.

                  Flyers will cost him maybe 2p each if ordered in bulk. Boxes will cost him much more than that, especially with what he is talking about.

                  He can also get perforated flyers which make it easy if he was into coupon advertising.

                    I was planning to sell approx 4-6 spaces on the pizza box with each advertiser offering a discount on their normal service i.e. 'Half price hair cut'.... that type of thing with the pizza company getting free/cheaper pizza boxes.

    I'm sure you could find some contractors on oDesk with experience doing this type of thing. Have them submit mock up designs and see which ones you like.

    Most will affix it to their fridge. Why? Because it has coupons for the pizza place they just visited. So your advertisers are piggy-backing off the pizza place and their coupons.
    Your thought is to advertise directly on the box?
    What do you do when you get a pizza? You open the box and leave it open so everyone can get some.
    Then, you throw the box away. No one is going to keep an old pizza box just in case they need the coupon. It's pretty gross to think about actually.
    Would you want someone to bring a coupon into your business that was attached to a 2 week old pizza box?

    My opinion: Terrible idea, stick to flyers

      It was the idea of advertising and designing a pizza lid, the coupon cut out was just an idea id had without fully thinking through thats why i posted on here, but i was also thinking about qr code? (are they really that popular?) or just a link to the other businesses facebook timeline with their offers available on their page.
