Best way to make phone calls online from the UK?

Hi everyone, I'm looking to make calls from my PC to UK mobiles.

I've done a little research, but services such as Skype and Google Voice are only available to US residents. There seems very little options for people from the UK. Ideally I'm looking to pay a monthly fee for unlimited calls.

What methods are UK users using to make calls?

    Thanks for the response Blogger. As far as I could see the premium Skype service which offers you unlimited calls to mobiles isn't available here, unless I'm mistaken.

    The Voipfone service looks interesting. I like that you can choose your area code, so that you can target 'local' customers even if it isn't your area! The price seems quite expensive though, 12p per min to mobiles or 1000 minutes for £70. There must be a service in the UK that is cheaper than that!

    Apologies for the double post, but has anyone had experience using the service from Dialnow.com?

    I have no experience using VOIP so I am unsure which providers are trustworthy, but it claims calls are 0.1p per minute to UK mobiles. It does say that after a certain amount of minutes they reserve the right to charge the default rate, but there is no mention of how many minutes, or what the default rate is.

    I also saw voipcheap.co.uk offered UK mobile calls for 2p per minute, which is very reasonable. Again, I have little clue of whether this service is credible, if anyone has experience with either of these I'd be very interested to hear about it.

    Skype runs ok in UK As I normally using skype for calling in UK.

    I believe the Unlimited phone calls from Skype to UK is not applicable to mobile phones, it is limited to land line. Atleast that was the last time I checked it. I am not sure if it has changed today.

      just get a contract mobile phone, i use mine for cold calling along with a bluetooth headset. i pay something like £40 for unlimited calls. i also phone mobiles by the way.

    Thanks everyone, Skype is a good price for landlines in the UK, but for mobile phone calls it is 17p which seems really expensive. I would have thought anyone making a large amount of calls would be looking for a much cheaper rate than this?

    are you sure? i thought skype is worldwide? how about rebtel then ?
