Great Method To Get Clients - My Story

Here's a little story that went from a standard haircut up to 4 clients and growing:

A couple of weeks back I headed into my local hairdressers to get my mop cut. It happened to be the owner who was cutting my hair and we got talking. She asked how I was etc - the standard small talk. She then asked what I do so I told her - web design blah blah blah - you know the drill.

I offered to do a website for a discount if she spread the word for me. Considering it's a high traffic place it had to be worth a shot. Business owners have to get their hair cut some time! I left some business cards there and got to work on the website. She loved it and was more than happy to spread the word.

Boom - so far I have had 4 phone calls asking for sites which has netted me 4 figures. Who knows - there might be more to come!

What started as a simple hair cut turned into a great referral opportunity!

I know I've typed it like a child but I didn't want this story to end up being more like an essay. The idea was to point out little opportunities that not everyone would have thought of. Maybe go to a different hairdressers each time and do the same - just a thought.
