Thanks for stopping by.

This post is different to what you normally see and I'm simply following through on an inner direction and feeling to share this because you or somebody out there needs to read this in order to not give up.

It might be called encouraging, but also throwing down a challenge for you to start from where you are now with what you already have, to get to where you want to be.

It's an extract from a message I sent to a group of people involved in local business consulting that I truly care about. I hope it challenges and encourages you too if you feel like you're not making as much traction as you would like to be making.

It's been abbreviated to comply with the rules for posts to be informational and not about self-promotion.

Wishing you get the wherever 'there' is for you, sooner rather than later!

It's a very bright Saturday morning here in the burbs of Chicago and I got up early to run (I'm in training for the Chicago marathon...yikes!) and to shake off the last week which I spent in Dallas picking up a new law firm client.

I'm writing to you from the heart, because each day I get more and more requests from people who were where I was back in 2007 when I first got involved in 'Offline Gold.'

I can bet that like them, you too basically want to make money from working with business owners, helping them with their marketing and business development?

There are hundreds of local businesses in your area right now that you could and should be helping, and as a direct result, earning two to three times yearly what you're doing now.

So where's the problem? What's causing the disconnect between problem > solution > rewards?

It's the questions you're asking yourself and your business owners, and the action you're taking. There's nothing else in between. Not a tool, a product or anything else.

After having worked with and as I continue to work with local business consultants from different countries around the world and from as many diverse backgrounds as you can possibly imagine, I can confirm that the key problems remain pretty much similar across the board.

The actual solution you may need, based on your motivations, your goals and who you are as an individual business person will differ from the next person, but honestly, at the end of the day, the biggest problem areas are the questions you're asking yourself and those you want to serve and also the action you're taking.

Not taking any action and pondering on what you should be doing more than taking 'imperfect action' as I call it, is also an action.

I've got a session at 1 PM CST today with someone who made a decision to stare down his fears, his ongoing lack of productivity craft a business that will serve him as he creates a life he can live on his terms.

He will do it. He will succeed. In 30, 60 and 90 days from now he will have edged closer to being in control of his offline consulting business and his life. I'm cheering him on every week, because I believe he will get to where he wants to be.

Will you?

Forget about the next 30, 60 or 90 days, what's your plan for next week Monday?

Did you follow a structured approach last week or did you engage in random activities that added $0 to your bank balance or your income?

How much time did you invest in revenue-generating activities and tasks vs. those that were interesting but added $0 to your bottom line?

Did you have more money go out than come in? If your answer is "Yes" then why did that happen and what are you going to do differently next week?

This is part of what I'm talking about when I say that you're not asking yourself the 'right' questions about your business and the direction your life is going.

It''ll be my birthday in a few weeks time and I'll be asking myself even more questions as I enter a new year, but you don't need to have a birthday coming up to ask yourself the questions that matter.

I care about you. I really do, but understand that you've got to be the first one to make a commitment to becoming successfully accountable for your success before anyone else can help you plan a path forward.

A Simple Action Plan To Overcome Inertia And Procrastination

Problem
What's the one problem you want to focus on?

Solution
What solution(s) can you come up with? 3 is normally the best number because if you only have two you're in a dilemma

Action
What 1 (ONE) thing are you going to do next. By next I mean immediately or within the next 24-72 hours that adds value and is your commitment to eliminating that particular problem?

Wishing you all the best.

  • well done.

we could take that action plan and build any sales presentation around it.

those we call on are in the same position.
what you offer helps solve their problem, and then you need to help them take action.

    good work Bayo
