Testimonials

So I've been working with different businesses (hotels, restaurants, stores, spas, etc)... By talking with many of them, I realized the following was lacking.

Testimonial management.

Either they are receiving them via email and other forms and aren't sure what to do with them OR they dont have a system in place to ask for & receive testimonials.

Testimonials (when done properly) can be a gold mine for businesses!

Thoughts?

  • Have you considered stepping into reputation management? I would say testimonials falls under that category.

I totally agree that every business must have a process in place to receive feedbacks, reviews, testimonials or whatever you want to call it. In our website, for example, we added a button wherein the customer himself can place his own review on our services. When we receive feedbacks via email, we also post them on our 'Testimonials' page with reference to the client's job code. So if someone dares to question how unique our testimonials are, we have some proofs to show.

You are just DIPPING your toes in the waters of Rep. management. Read around a little bit more about ORM and upsell all of these guys on ORM. Companies charge out the ass for ORM and you can too. Why? because it's gold, it can be the difference of 100k/yr in sales and 800k/yr in sales.
  • Absolutely testimonials are important. They are social proof.

It's never a bad idea to offer customers or clients some type of incentive to take the time to give you a testimonial. Maybe a "10% off your next order" coupon or something along those lines.

      Hi John,

That's a good suggestion. I'm glad I checked out this 'Offline Marketing Discussions' room. I'm getting brilliant ideas that we can apply to our content writing services.
  • I agree with what some guys posted above. You should offer them a more general ORP deal where testimonials management is included. That would sound a lot more interesting in the business owner ears.
  • Always ask for referrals too... Easiest way to get new clients
  • Good info posted. Doing some ORM with what you are sticking your toe into the door with for testimonial management is gold for companies needing to weed out the negative comments, reviews that pop up whether in Google Places, Yelp, etc.

You can command big bucks for handling their needs in this arena.
  • Set them up with a Testimonial Page and get them to ask for a testimonial in a video format that you will place on the site as part of the Management Package. If you are interested, PM me for more details.
