So I've been here for a couple months now.

I've been doing SEO on 2 of my business websites, since everybody was charging an arm and a leg.

My SERP rankings were nowhere on google when I first started 2 months ago.

I have been doing some fiverr gigs, some Senuke X, and some of Angelas backlinks.

As of yesterday this is what SERPFOX said:

kw 1: 13
kw 2: 8
kw 3: 4
kw 4: 13

And today this is what is says:

kw 1: 307
kw 2: 449
kw 3: 328
kw 4: 14

I freaked out so I went to a different computer at work, and googled my keywords, and they are showing as the 1st rankings (yesterdays)

I checked Whats My SERP just now and this is what I'm getting.

kw 1: 11
kw 2: 12
kw 3: ?
kw 4: ?

What's going on, what should I do? and who should I believe?

As of today I have spent $49 and I was extremely happy with yesterdays results, now I'm freaking out.

I did get the most amount of visitors to my site yesterday.

Someone please help, I'm willing to listen and learn.

Thank you

You could just be seeing the google dance. This happens a lot, especially if you are blasting 100's of links to your sites in a short time period. Give it a couple of days.

SEO is not all about backlinking. You need to have good content, the appropriate meta tags, the right alt text, the right title and description, etc. Backlink diversity and anchor text diversity play a big role in ranking at the present time.

So should I take it easy on backlinking for now?

How long should I wait for?

I'm working on the content, metatags, etc. now

      Thank you

Yea if you have been blasting back links it looks unnatural to the SERPS. Give it til the end of the week. You could continue to create backlinks manually but make sure that when you create your backlinks the websites are relevant to your business and diversify your anchor text and limit it to only 4 or 5 per day.

If you haven't yet, get webmaster tools. You can analyze your backlinks from their and also remove any backlinks that you might think are affecting your rankings.

It's a google dance, keep a steady amount of backlinks, dont stop or blast more.

Ranking Ups and Down happen with many people even i also face that with my site. Google changes it's algorithm every month so it is common to drop ranking but if we doing link building with natural way and try to build link as per Google set rules then there is less chance of dropping ranking. focus on promoting your site through social networks and actively participate with communiy it will help you to keep your ranking steady.

Bring your back links in slowly and mix in their quality. I've seen sites losing placement from too many back links coming in too fast.

Looks like the effect of Google's new algorithm, you may go ahead and try slow and steady backlinking and thatz worked well.

The biggest lesson you will ever learn in SEO is that the above is NOT SEO, it's a half assed, lazy attempt at it.

If you're serious about doing this, read around here a little, learn what real SEO and concentrate on that.

I'm talking about developing traffic channels, split testing what works and what doesn't, diversification etc etc throwing some shitty backlinks at a site does not constitute SEO, and you'll find out the hard way if you continue to dabble with the dark arts.
