How to avoid a spam filter?

So I was reading online and I came up with a little list:

- don't use "salesly" keywords: Advertisement, business, congratulations, deal, offer, opportunity...just to name a few!

- don't use too many links in your email. They suggest one link only.

- avoid background color, big & unusual fonts, etc.

- limit number of graphics

Anyone else know of any tricks to avoid the spam filters?!?

  • I tried sending an email from my gmail account to my yahoo account (to test before sending out to businesses) and it went into my yahoo spam folder. I tried changing different things like the subject line, not putting the video link in the body, etc. to no avail.

    What kept it out of my yahoo spam folder is adding a signature, which included a salutation, my name, my title, an email address, and phone number.

    I didn't remove any of the signature items to continue testing which item actually caused the message to go into the inbox instead of spam folder because I was happy to send all of that contact info to the businesses.

    3. Always include unsubscribe link.

  • @Col and @James, isn't this exactly what the two of you are doing right now... Spamming? I saw Col commented on like 10 posts within a 5-10 minute period, and each post was only a few words. I am not sure if that is what you are doing also James, but if so, please cut it out. Please make sure you are contributing with your posts, and not just trying to get a higher post count. I was reading through the recent posts by others and this just bumped a bunch of good posts off the first page.
