Telemarketing - What Tools to use in UK?

Hi all,

I am starting to make 100+ cold calls a day from home, using John Durham and WikiWarrior's excellent advice, selling web services to local businesses.

What do people recommending using?

I have lots of minutes on my mobile phone, and a Skype subscription (although that seems expensive to call mobile numbers).

I will be phoning landlines, mobiles, and some 08 numbers.

Any feedback is welcome, thank you.

Also, is Yell.com essentially the online replica of the Yellow Pages book?

Thanks again,

Scott

Why don't you use your mobile minutes to call the mobiles and the skype thing to call landlines?

Would that work for you at all?

Might make natural break points for you phsycologically.

Sorting a list in Excel or whatever into 01 and 07 can't be hard. (Not that I could do it but it still can't be hard if you know what I mean.)

And Yell.com is essentially an online version of the book yes. Pretty much everything in the book is listed for free in Yell

Agree with Dan, use your mobile minutes to call mobiles and skype for landline. There are many sites online where you can get numbers.

Yes, by hand - manually (not auto dial).

As your in the UK.. I highly recommend using checkatrade.com to get some phone numbers! Thousands of plumbers, electricians, roofers etc have turned to checkatrade. Give it a look, You can also see which ones have websites and which do not.

Hadn't thought of Checkatrade - good call, sir.

      Thanks for the input, folks.

Just want to see what the cold-calling pros are using to make phone calls, if not using auto-dial.

Nice, good job! for starting to take action. I am definitely, focusing on trying to make 2,000 calls this month as a goal to knock off my list. Hopefully, I can get in a routine of calling Monday-Friday for at least 3-4 hours/day.

I've done it a little bit, maybe 300 calls before but stopped. I have seen all the successful threads and decided it's about time I need to start calling and closing over the phone.

I would recommend checking out callfire.com as a mass dialer, makes things a lot easier. I'm not sure, if it works in the UK. I am also going to be using yellowpages.com as well for listings. I will eventually try all the different sources of leads.

Is there a working free or paid autodialer for skype? I would like to increase my cold calling substantially over the next few weeks.

        Hi Scott..

For tracking your leads I highly suggest Openleads.com
And if you need telemarketers you can connect through our marketplace at Outbounders.com .. you can listen to recordings and hire right on the page.. some agents as little as $3 - 4/hr (disclosure this is my site in Beta)

Ultimately the key to most marketing campaigns is CONSISTENCY .. make it a routine. As a business owner it's difficult to make it a routine if you have to hop around to different parts of your business .. as you generate more leads you have to move to customer service etc. So better to put the right people in place that can maintain consistency while you work ON the business instead of IN it.

        Cheers
