Cold Calling And Taking Action

Hi all!

I am planning by the end of this year to finally take action. my goal is to sell a service to the real estate agents in my country. I was previously thinking of getting someone to do the cold calling, but there were 2 factors that put me off: the cost per day as well as the fact that i am free myself during the day.

I have decided to commit myself to cold calling for at least 5 hours per day or until i have made 2 sales per day. I want to ask you guys questions!

1. Everyone dreads being scolded by someone over the phone. Is the dreading of the scolding terrible or the actual scolding itself worse?

2. I am working for myself and understand the 100 calls-3 apps- 1 sale theory. Has this been true for you too?

3. Should i use Skype services or my home landline to make the calls? (mobile is out of the question because of the privacy and the cost)

4. If someone abuses me over the phone, can i hang up on them?

Thanks for any constructive comments!

    B2B or B2C cold calling?

    1) You are your own worst enemy.
    2) If B2B, focus on making 400-500 dials weekly. If B2C, focus on speaking to 500 people weekly. The rest will take care of itself.
    4) Hang up on their punk asses. You don't need those shitheads messing with you. YOU are in control.

***By the end of the year? What are you waiting for? Just start today. Figure out the details when you get a client.

    1. This has happened to me exactly once in thousands and thousands of calls. Usually when people are pissed they hang up anyway so what do you care? Stop being afraid.

    2. Yes, roughly.

    3. Use whatever works. Don't get mired in details, just do it. I use my home landline.

    4. Lol, did you seriously ask that? Yes, you can hang up, or shout profanities at them, or do a little dance, or do whatever you want. It's your life.

Cold calling is not the same as working for them. Even if they are your client, you can still fire them if they're abusive. You don't need that crap.

Expect the unexpected when dealing with people especially over the phone.

Anyone who is rude can be hung up on.

You only want to talk with people who are respectful.

Top people in organizations often came up through the sales channel, and value people who can make calls. They're nicer than you think.

Yep -- some will also rebuttal you just to see how good of a salesman you are, to separate the wheat from the chaff.
