Does inbound traffic really matter when it comes to social media marketing? When it comes to social media marketing, believe it or not, organic inbound traffic do not matter. If it did, then following this logic, every YouTube video and Facebook post would have hundreds-of-thousands views based on the sites' incoming traffic, right? Clients should not think in terms of website specific traffic in social media. Traffic statistics are only important in regards to static advertising such as banners that rely on incoming visitors to click on the banner and hopefully purchase the product.

Five Day Case Study

So how important or effective are quality videos, Social Media Optimization (SMO) and Social Media Marketing? My business model is a publishing platform designed to promote local economic growth for communities and businesses using branded video content. To demonstrate this assertion, I published a video article on Thursday, August 30th, 2012. The video is hosted on Vimeo but exclusive to the site.
