HOW TO IMPORT FROM JAPAN?

So, I've happened to stumble upon a niche product bringing in $175 mill in yearly revenue for a business here in the U.S. that is importing from Japan. I've done tons of research and they have absolutely no competition here in America. I'm not sure why that is.

I was wondering how to go about getting a direct from manufacturer relationship from Japan? I checked Alibaba but no providers available. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post but I'd love to know how to go about this if anyone has any help?! Thanks.

    Figure out who makes the product, and contact them. Be prepared to order sufficiently large quantities of product to make it worthwhile to them. Hire a lawyer to inform you of customs and other regulatory issues associated with importing that type of product from that country. That's how buying wholesale works.

      To Import just get the info you need from your Government Trade Dept.

      If you are just talking about this specific thing that you have seen then my gut feeling based on your post is that you wont get it.

      1 manufacturer (you can't find alternative suppliers according to your post) and 1 distributor in the US (according to your post)

      What is that telling you? (Exclusive Rights.)

        Agree 100% I suspect it is an exclusive deal but never hurts to find out.

        Hell maybe you can even partner with the US distributor to open new US markets.
