Hi, I have a client asking for SEO services for his website but it is in chinese. I do know some good services here fo SEO, but have you got success making SEO for foreing laguages like Chinese.
I have made some reseacrh but it seems all say it's necessary to know a little about he language the website is built in.

I do not speak Chinese, not even English, do you know some resources -like ODESK- where I can get not expensive outsourcers who are native Chinese speakers?

Thankyou

HI, marketing in google in foreign countries it is not too much different than google.com, if you are using google.com.hk try using wordpress. You can do this in English or the native language of the country you are marketing in. If you are building a website for a client, have them write the text. I have done one website in Chinese, and many in Japanese and Russian. I have always used wordpress and have climbed to the top of Google SERPs quickly, example, google.ru, google.ua etc...If you are marketing the website and it is yours, hire a translator for your text. you can get this done cheaply. Let me know what you are doing and I will be glad to give you a step by step process. -Robert

Use google translator to promote your clients website. Create Meta tags in English or your own language & then translate with the help of google translator. SEO process is same as normal website, except if clients only wants to promote their website in china the set geo location as China in Google webmaster tool

Well i do not find that Google translate works well. It gives you incorrect value. Especially for your keywords. I am from the U.S.A and do not speak Russian. But I am currently living in Russia doing SEO for clients. I have found in the beginning stages of this Google translate will not even come close to matching the keyword or keyword phrase. The best way is to only have a native of that country write you a search term list of the language you are marketing. And then run those keywords in Google's adword keyword tool. It will then generate you the proper results you need. So I suggest not to use Google translator. Most people in other countries when you translate form English to another language really cant understand the translation. Trust me on this. Hire someone who speaks the other language, and then double check the work with another. Or get the client to write the pages. SEO in other countries is fairly easy. A lot easier than ours.

SEO process is not different for other language website. There is Google translator which will help you for promoting these type of websites. You can fix meta part with the help of this tool.

Well, good luck finding someone on here that really knows what they're talking about. I have a few clients in other countries and SEO is different, but they still have Google as the major search engine. China does not.

The Chinese use Baidu. SEO with Google and Baidu are different. I've been able to rank 2 out of 3 sites on baidu but it was just weird, and kind of hit or miss, lots of trial and error. I don't have much advice for you, obviously you need to figure out the on page optimization.... the only advice I can give you, is to get backlinks from chinese websites. Backlinks from any .com is not going to cut it.

    Hey Anthony,

Just as IAmNameless said, Baidu is the one you want to be going for. It would be ideal to look into marketing in RenRen and Weibo which is a big social game for Chinese citizens. My girlfriend is native Chinese (Changsha, Hunan Province). Please don't use Google Translate it's wrong nearly every time or it would translate very poorly and confuse Chinese readers for sure.

Is the guy who wants a Chinese language website Chinese? Is the website already in Chinese? If not maybe my girlfriend can help you translate properly for SEO purposes but ideally you can have a successful website regardless of much SEO emphasis, due to the fact that Chinese love the social game.

Maybe I would recommend finding a few chinese learning websites (or getting the client to) and start getting a few QQ (their version of MSN or Yahoo messenger) and get some contacts to really help spread the word.

In addition to ShaolinSteve's girlfriend, I'd suggest checking with your local universities'
offices for International Students. They should put you in touch, or let you post a gig.

I can do SEO in 2 languages. English and spanish.

I can do on-site SEO for both.

The issue with spanish comes with spanish off-site SEO, its really hard to find linking providers, or people willing to provide u with incoming links, in english markets this is not an issue at all.

But the google algorithms are global, so if u can do it in one language u can do it in every.

Contact a university, especially one that offers Chinese courses. They'd have an office that helps students get jobs. Arrange to have a job posted there, for someone who speaks Chinese line a native. You should be able to find someone.

Yes, you have no choice if your site do not have their languages in content . The percentage of getting rank in their languages is almost impossible.

Even meta tag do need in their languages as well .
Google do suggest with google translate plug in
    https://translate.google.com/manager/website/

but that still not good enough for that due to high competitive in the market.

The best option is still go with the languages content with subdomain or subfolder.
