Google Places Qeustion?

I am looking at a local restaurant which has photos uploaded to their places listing (and obviously ones they put there themselves) but they have not claimed their listing?

Does this just mean that the listing is active but won't show up in the "magic seven"?

Claiming a listing and doing something with it helps with ranking, but not claiming one doesn't keep it out of the top 7.

I think you should try panorama for such criteria. It is very good platform to search anything with photographs. try it you'll definitely find the difference.

It should show up in results since Google will notice it as an active page especially if it has images uploaded or reviews added.

    • Blank empty unclaimed Place pages rank high all the time. Because most keywords these days pull the blended algo which is 90% about organic ranking factors. Claiming in and of itself or even just adding images does not guarantee a boost. Not to say claiming isn't important, don’t mean to imply that. It's just that there are over 300 ranking factors and claiming is not super high on the list.

It will still show on Google Results. Sometimes Google automatically create listing based on the info they collected on the directories on the internet. You can see that sometimes the photo's are from panoramio displaying the street view of the location of that biz. So the client just need to claim that listing and modify if there are some incorrect info.

I've tried google place page and still waiting for my verification through mail. They said it will take about a few days or a week to have it delivered and as soon as delivered it will be verified so I guess it will be listed as claimed. I am looking forward to it if there might be changes in my sites ranking.

Maybe those unclaimed listing wasn't able to get verified yet
