I have a marketing CD I want to watch on TV

If I want to burn marketing footage on a CD-R and watch it through a DVD player will it work?

Also if when burning the footage, I select "Burn DVD" but put in a CD-R instead of a blank DVD, will it work in a DVD player.

NOTE: the footage is less than a GB so file size is not an issue in my case.

The main reason I ask is becuase I'm volunteering with a hockey team and making marketing packages so that they can pursue college scholarships

Thanks

Burning on a DVD is a must if you want interactive menus etc.

DVD players can play movie files that are on a CD-R they just won't be interactive just click and play etc no chapters, if you want to impress make a DVD with menus.

Honestly depends on the DVD player.

Hell some dvd players won't even play burned DVDs. And others will play avi files you just burn as files to a disk.

To maximize the chance of playing burn it as an authored DVD. You should get 90+% of DVD players that way.

And use a DVD-R not a DVD+R and never a CD of any kind unless you are burning files and you know the player will play avi.

If you have an lcd tv that takes a computer input, you could do it that way. Instead of using your monitor, just use the tv. You simply have to have the right cable. Having the correct audio cable will allow you to send sound from your pc to the lcd tv also..or a stereo.
