Marketinc - Name Change - Suggestions

Marketinc Solutions

my personal reason for exploring name changes......

#1 - Marketinc..... Marketinc Solutions (c not g) is too sensitive to auto correct and SEO type corrections made in searches, etc etc etc.... Though this has mostly been a local, B2B sales business, growth & broadening out into national and international targeting could be hindered by this name and the consequences of it.

Also, one of my team members is Bi-Lingual Spanish speaking, and honestly when he says it, it sounds wayyyy to much like "Marketing"..... Both english & spanish customers may get confused over phone.

WHAT'S YOUR TAKE? DO YOU AGREE?.... Disagree?

I agree. The auto correct thing alone is very annoying. Plus it's too generic and seems like a mis-spelling, which makes you look stupid to potential clients.

    • Agree

Thanks for the input..... Im in the process of name/brand change, I'm leaning towards an immediate change.

My Marketing Company is owned by my LLC, so no worries there

Just a Branding issues and details.

I'm glad my business is in its infancty and im aware of these problems now.....didn't buy or create TONS of marketing pieces (I can edit all of the ones I have made, and printing)

    Hmmm..

Good call, and good job catching that now. I've had quite a few domains and businesses that have frustrated me because of something with spelling or pronunciation that made people think it was something else and it really irritated me because I have a short fuse anyway.

Good that you caught this already. However, I'm not against keeping the name... because I like it. Once you brand enough, and get enough volume it won't auto correct you anymore, which on one of my businesses it was fun to watch the progress of the branding and recognition.

From an SEO standpoint, I don't think it matters much but I can see the concern.

It's been on my mind for Months.....

I Like and understand the mix of Marketing and Inc. - a combination of marketing and business solutions. My clients, may not?

      www/marketincsolutions/com

      What are your thoughts on.....

Continuing the brand, possiblly wait until REAL problems arise..... Make decision then

I'm fine switching mid-launch/growth..... My plan is keep it as a "sub brand" possibly (Marketinc Solutions Package) if I ever change Firm's Name

        This is actually interesting.

When I read it, I do recognize the combination marketing and inc together.

But when I say it out loud it also sounds like "marketing" instead of "market inc"

Even though my first language is english (Canadian english, lol) I still does sound that way to me.

I guess if your main audience that you are targeting is going to have problems with it, and they will be constantly mispronouncing it, and/or thinking it means something else entirely because of the way it sounds then it might be a good idea to change it.

If this is not a problem and it is only the auto-correct thing then I personally wouldn't worry too much about it.

one more question. I know you put www/marketincsolutions/com as your site, but is www/marketinc/com your site also?

          thanks for your thoughts....

the name is having the effect i want "Market inc".... i dont see it it being a HUGE problem....but wanted the forums opinion.

to your point on "will my clients get confused".... i think the only confusion would lead them down the "marketing" path, which is still ok to me.

i think "Marketinc" has branding potential. i have yet to drop "solutions" (yet)

no.....it looks like a foreign (to me) advertising agency

i contacted them, but didn't get a response.... did some research, couldn't find much.

honestly, im not going to rank for "Marketing" anyway, or any of the combinations anytime soon...... but i want to eliminate issues before they arise.

i think my target customers could care less about the name.... as long as they understand fully, the product & service offering easily without a lot of searching (some business names, I'm like OK? what do you do? business owners don't have time to go thru a HUGE website, blog posts, content, etc - THEY DONT CARE, i think marketers, graphic designers, and other web designers are the only ones who care about any of that stuff).

.... my website is nowhere near complete...... but my focus is on prospecting and getting new clients, and launching Website/App (other posts)

my opinion....mostly they kind of forget the name until they get the Invoice.

they are more like "my web/marketing guy" or something along those lines, then they remember the business name.

Without disclosing my name... it has the same issue.
The coomon spelling is with an "I" where as mine is spelled with a "Y"

I am not to worried about auto correct, and to help enforce the "y", I added a slogan using the word why. So, maybe you can use something similar if you keep it.
"Bringing marketing and business solutions together- MarketInc"

Just make your staff say it as two words. Market Inc
Thanks for calling Market Inc vs. MarketInc.
Keep it as one, just say it as two.
