Starting a BPO is one of the best businesses to do in India. If you have a small office space wherein you can squeeze in a couple of computers and a desk for telephones and a copier machine, you can start-off your BPO business confidently.
BPO business in India includes data entry jobs, call center jobs, telemarketing jobs, customer service jobs, payroll processing, medical transcription, settling insurance claims, supply chain management and other bookkeeping services

I am sure you don't have a Business Plan. Well you need to make one as well as a Marketing Plan or else you will end up trying hard.

      Agree on this!

BPO nowadays continue to boom. Good for you that you build your own company. Planning is very essential in a business and should not be neglected.

To add, you can build a list of the companies that might be needing such services and do the email marketing, or you can directly call them. Both of these are effective.

It's Business Process Outsourcing. Technically people outsource to you for help on their processes.

You can check out on Odesk or Freelancer there are some clients who would post there looking for agencies. Or you may work out a new site which introduces your product. I have a friend who started a small BPO and now its growing, she just put up a website about her BPO and did some SEO for it. And its doing really well.

    1. Business Plan (it only serves as a guide for your business or if you want to borrow money)
    2.Create a reasonable portfolio,client ask for it.
3.Partnership is always important, partner your weakness and deliver your strength (clients always ask for flexibility).
4.Call to action plan, email marketing, cold calling, referrals.
    5.Prepare for "Plan B"

One process can work to one but not to all....

BPO is really one of the best business which is handled by a team of 4 to 5 members in the starting age. To Start a BPO you have to make cold calling and collect all the data and contect phone number to call the particular person for outbond process.

There are many, many companies in the US that sell BPO. They contract the work out to India and other places. I personally know a guy at the top of one of the big 5 consulting firms in the world. There are billions of dollars of business being done this way.

After many conversations - here is what I would say to you:

    1. You need a sales force on the ground where you want to sell. This is a relationship business and enterprise level sales like BPO are built fully on trust. Your customers have to know they can count on you. This is a huge risk to the business.

    2. You probably cannot afford to hire your own sales people in the US and Europe. In fact, most of the BPO firms do NOT actually have a sales team of their own. You need to find groups who will sell for you.

    3. Your customers will NOT be the end businesses you are doing work for. Your customers will be the consulting companies who sell BPO. You will struggle greatly if you try to sell directly to the customer. They simply do not have the expertise in managing this type of relationship.

If I were you, I would pick large cities and create a list of every consulting firm in that city which offers BPO services. I would then market to them aggressively to be their fulfillment center. I would not be surprised if they hopped on a plane to come see you. BPO consultants travel a LOT back and forth managing the processes for their customers.

In starting a BPO, for the Start up I can say that the best way to start is test the market first, look for centers who are offering seat leasing, you can start 1 or 2 agents and if the result was good enough, try to add more, cause in seat leasing it can provide you options to expand your Call Center business in the BPO industry.
