DO you think I should?

Hello All!

My apologies if this question has already been posted...

Just wondering if its the right idea to partner up with someone who would take on the job of cold calling or would it be appropriate to do the calling myself?
I am thinking of providing the necessary script and leads myself to the one whom I would partner though....

The service would be website designing - desktop & mobile versions, seo

Please suggest what the experts here think is a better option!

Nobody will ever care about your business as much as you do.

Finding someone who will consistently call for you can also be very difficult.

If you want to be a business owner, you really should learn how to sell. That's what presidents do all day.

    Hey Jason,
    Thank you for the advise.
I followed your other thread on how to make cold calls and pass the objection, it is from there that I picked up the 'not sure' trick which was an opener to many like me

I understand the fact that I should be the one making the calls, but there is one thing that's bothering me
I am from India and have already made some calls, many of the calls didn't work out but those few calls where they showed interest changed their mind due to my location even though I had some portfolio to showcase my skills...
Any suggestions on how can I got about this?

I'd really like to get the same thing for my SEO business. I need someone who can make the sales and then I can produce the work.

I guess it's really hard to find that these days.

You have to be able to call business owners. Remember you are one yourself too. Once you get into the mindset that you are just as important as they are then you can make a breakthrough. Try getting someone to sit with you the first few times for moral support if you need it. Their is no way to get past the location or the age aspect but if you can provide some sort of benefit before hand you might have a chance. For instance, close for a free report as opposed to going for the sale. Then once they have already received some value they will be more inclinded to buy.

The answer to if it is appropriate for your business depends on many factors.

I believe that any business should hire sales people as soon as they can but you have to pay them well.

It depends on whether cold calling is your strength - for me, I hate cold calls, so I'd rather pay someone to do it.

It also depends on whether your partner is good - if you think you can do it better than him/her, I'd find someone else.

      Yes.
Well, I had my part of the cold calling and we won't enjoy it unless we take of that fear from the equation and sound confident...
I guess, may be I should try it in parallel to finding someone who is reliable and good at it...

Well you can hire a girl and make her call that will be more cheaper then outsourcing it.

    Hi there,
I was in a similar situation, I actually come from a sales background which was mostly in person selling. I partnered up with 2 very good friends which happened to come from a telemarketing background. We used Jason Kanigan's "I'm not so sure" approach and it worked wonderful. I personally did not do the calling however I did do the Closing calls which came after the leads were qualified by my 2 partners. That seemed to work very well for us, considering it was our first day.
I hope that was somewhat helpful in terms of deciding what is appropriate or not.

Thank you for that! Yeah, I've read Jason's thread and yours is yet another success story from his lil "unsure" tip
Well, think I am gonna start doing the calls now...
By the way, which business did you target?
