Reputation Mangment | Advice Sorted

Hi, i have a law firm as a client & they have a negative "review" online.
the review is actually a former client suing them & the court records r being displayed high on the google search results.

since this type of business is not the kind you call previous clients & ask for a positive review & since in my country we dont have Yelp or using G+
i'm finding it hard to give my client a real answer that will take care of their needs.
anyone here has been practicing rep. mng. before in this line of work?

any real advice that comes from personal experience will be greatly appreciated

thanks

    It's actually just SEO.

The keywords where this is showing up you need to make a bunch of pages show up above it. You don't have yelp or google places so you will have to create ones for the business.

Depending on how far you want it down you want it you may have to create a lot of content.

Also try to get positive news stories published about the business. Than you can SEO those as well so they rank above the court report.

hmm.. didnt think about it like that/
thanks for replying Aaron, the court website is like the authoroty site here so its preety strong compotition + the the "reviews" are against 1 of the partners personally rather then the law firm. do u have added suggestions along with the SEO service?

Which search terms is it showing up for?

Don't have to give the real terms but something like this

Business Name - Shows up 3rd
    Lawyer + city - shows up 5th

And is it just the one negative site showing? Or has it spanned multiple news pages that are showing up?

My biggest add on would be a classic PR campaign to get news sources reporting on the business or person if it's just him in another fashion. Fill the search with good news if you can.

Maybe have him make a big donation and get all the local news to cover it.

Than in a few weeks have him start a foundation for reading or something and get them to cover him reading at a local school.

Sadly it sounds like if they want to bury this the only way to do it will be to put up the money needed to do it. It will be a nice size SEO and PR campaign. of course the PR could back fire and get the news reporting about the lawsuit so that is a risk as well.

Without knowing the whole situation it is hard to give more than basic overview advice.

the search term is the lawyer name.
      there r 2 results showing:
1 is the biggest law info website in my country & at the top of the page u can see the lawsuit against her

the 2nd is of index portal for lawyers, same results showing.

obiously via learning from talking with u i gather that if serious SEO is implemented then something can be done.

i searched the web only to find tactics to practices i did not like such as negative seo & spam violations.

i do not come from an SEO background, i'm really only good at finding USP's & selling my services.
i guess i'll will have to come up with a plan something like 9 months of intense negative results removal or something, but i only focus on my end here. its more important to me that the client problem will be taken care of.

giving the the info i shared (not much i know ) do u feel that proper SEO work will do the job & help my client Aaron?

I'm not an SEO expert myself but the fundamentals work so you should be able to bury it by raising enough pages above it.

How much time and effort this would take I have no clue.

Just because it can be done doesn't mean it will be done easy.

But I would guess based on what you said the lawyer isn't mentioned much so getting him mentioned places in a positive light and using SEO to get those pages higher should work.

But you need someone with better SEO knowledge.

You want to do 3 steps:

    1. Press Release - do a press release for the keywords you're targeting. The press release will get syndicated across major portals and will rank fantastically.

    2. Buy Domains - you want to buy as many domains with the keywords that have the negative post. For instance, if it's "Lawyer Firm Ripoff", then you want to buy Lawyerfirmripoff.com/net/org/us ...etc... Then do your standard link building to these domains.

    3. Lastly Social Media. Make sure the client has all their social media elements going: Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, G+, Pinterest, etc... Fill these out ENTIRELY!

There are a few other ninja steps, but that is the foundation to any reputation management campaign. You do that, and you'll start to see your client's bad results hit page 2/3/4, while these properties you're creating above ranking page 1.

Thank you Aaron for your help. I've checked with a couple top level SEO guys in my area but there is no yes or no answer.

I dont see any other way then just to try to create a bucnch of webpage, content & links coming from different ip with different c class servers.

will be intresting to find out since i did not find any solution in the warrior forum & the wso section is a joke regarding issues like this.

will continue my search, thanks again, putting on the seo path sure will help alot in the meeting this week.
