Flyers and statistics

So, While I was washing this HUGE comforter at the laundry mat because it wouldn't fit in my washing machine, I walked next door to a local groomer to get a price to groom my puppy.

The owner wasn't there but the lady seemed to be very good friends/family with them.
After talking dog prices, I left and went to the laundry mat. She later came in to get a soda from the vending machine. I had looked on my phone to see if they had a site..Which they didn't .No FB either.

So I asked her why she didn't have a site, she just basically said they never bothered with one. She then asked me what all goes into it, and I ended up talking to her for about 15 minutes. She took down my name and number and I asked me for a ballpark on what it would all cost.

So, I don't know if you gurus call that a lead, but it certainly gave me a boost of confidence.

I did a little more homework and there are a few salons and other businesses in the same shopping center that don't have sites or FB pages. I think it would greatly help them.

I am in the process of getting a company logo designed and some cheap cards made because that was the first thing she asked me about. Did I have a card.

Here is my question. I know I started out talking about SMS marketing and I still will go after that, however I want to pitch sites/fb pages to these other businesses.

I feel it would help me tremendously if I had like a flyer with mobile statistics on traffic, users that google on their phones ,and things of that nature. I think it would help sell them.

I also think it will help me sort of like a cheat/sales sheet for me that I can go over them with.

What are your thoughts on this?

All in all, I'm excited to get started and guess what

I PICKED UP A HUUUUGE YELLOW PAGES BOOK !

Excellent. I remember running through the old phone books for leads. I actually found the Bartercard book to be the best converting source of leads. The Bartercard book is an absolute gem if you are in the UK/AU/NZ and sell directly to SME, you might be able to hunt one out on ebay.

I would keep your marketing collateral short if you plan on using it when door knocking. Attention spans are very short for this sort of thing. A one pager covering a few feature/benefits, two+ testimonials for social proof and your price. I'd stay away from the slimy sales speak if you can so don't look at the latest in WSO copy for inspiration

Most small business owners will be happy to talk to you if you seem genuine and sincere. But of course be ready for rejections and just move forwards beyond these.

If its stats you're looking for, I'd start your search at Google who's pushing mobile in a big way. You'll find all kinds of resources at Why Go Mo? and if you just google things like "mobile web statistics" you'll find all kinds of stats and resources.

Of course you can also find infographics collection like these Infographics (Mobile) online too

Have you searched the forum here for "web design flyers"? I know there are plenty available in the WSO section, including this WSO that I just picked up myself

Check out WillR's WSOs too, as he's done some nice videos to help sell SMS and Mobile that you can get in addition to a great set of mobile website templates and sales info, oh and Google also has some great videos that explain sms and mobile marketing online at Google Mobile Ads - YouTube

Hope that helps some and good luck!

    Steve

For flyer/report design you could try out Fiverr. I got some stuff designed, mainly logo's. But I am sure there are decent flyer/report designers out there as well.

Just supply them with the information you need in there and they will get your work done.

I'd recommend vFlyer.com for making flyers. It has great customer support and a lot of cool templates to choose from. I found it very easy to use and ended up looking great. Plus, you can try it for free.

giving them a flyer is like an optin box next to an order button. You don't want an optin next to the order button. You want them to order. When I am in front of you, there's no need for a flyer. Everythig the flyer would say I can explain 10 times better. Trust me I close about 85% of the businesses I get in front of. If you need to come back, set an appointment and come back But don't give them a way out with a flyer. If anything leave behing a special report with a call to action.

What does your special report consist of?
