Thanksgiving Day Newspaper Idea...

With Thanksgiving coming up, and all of the sales of that paper on Thanksgiving day for the black Friday sales I was thinking it would be the perfect time to do a newspaper flier insert. Whats your thoughts? Not sure how to capitalize on it yet, just a thought I had.

    The two things to be aware of are

    1. It is likely the biggest day for newspaper sales. So you will need a lot of flyers and they will get into a lot of hands.

    2. Everyone and their brother advertises that day so a lot of people just grab out the ads they want so you need a killer design to get their attention and then the offer needs to be killer to get them buying.

    If you have a great offer an the skills (or money to pay people) to do this right you will make money.

    It would help if you explained the type of product you plan on selling that way.

    IMHO the risk is quite high. There is a lot of competition where I am. I'd have to run it multiple times to cut through the noise.

    Then I'd figure out the response I need to break even and then call some of the current advertisers and ask them about their typical response.

    I don't plan on selling anything, I just wanted to point it out in case anyone else could benefit from the idea.

    Could even do a co-op flier, with say 4 ads on each side for local businesses who want to have black Friday specials but can't afford to advertise in the paper on their own.
