Anyone generate decent money for offline clients on a simple google blogger page?

I saw an offline client who gets a decent amount of traffic to his blogger site and it got me thinking I could potentially make a couple hundred bucks by creating some blogger sites with decent traffic...

The problem is that you have no control over them, if blogger shuts down bang goes all of your business. If they decide that they want your sub domain for something else, bang goes your business, they decide they want to put ads on your site, bang goes some of your business.

I have clients ask me this all the time when I tell them they need a domain.

You really need to be in control of your web properties or you are basically a sitting duck at the mercy of whoever is running things.

Right, I was wondering that. Can they buy their own domain and then just use blogger to post? It is easy for people to use blogger. I don't know how I feel about seeing ads on business' blogs.

I'd steer well clear, Wordpress is just as easy to use as blogger and you can control it. You can even let people post just by sending an email, it's the better solution all around really.

I actually used blogger to built my first business website and it looks pretty good. Blogger ranks awesome because Google loves their own products. I've seen built a different business site because we changed our name and incorporated, but I still get leads from that site all the time because I just kept it up there.

I'm a little confused on what your question was though? Are you looking to set up Adsense sites or something with blogger?

I thought the question was should he use blogger for his main business site.

I'd defo consider using it for lead gen purposes but not as the focal point of my business.

Oh yeah, I mean it was good as a starting point and I knew how to work blogger to make it look good....enough. I would learn WP and build something with that. Learning WP will only help you in the long run.

Blogger isn't bad if you want to make money with blogging, but you definitely shouldn't use it for a business page. Google can randomly get rid of your page. If you look through WF and other forums, you'll see hundreds of people who've had their blogs taken down for weird reasons. It could be from inactivity, breaking some obscure rule that no one follows or if Google just doesn't like you.

If you want a business page, then spend the $10 for a domain.

So let me get this straight... You can use blogger, but just buy a domain name and use blogger with your domain name?

I think what hes saying is if you want to make money personally like through adsense, or amazon use blogger. But if your building a site for a business client or you want to use a site to promote your own business then use wordpress.

I have both (which alot of warriors do also), i use blogger, weebly, blinkweb and i also have wordpress site as well, for personal affiliate sites. But when promoting my offline marketing services to potential clients i have a wordpress site. (businessname.com)
