Not trying to rain on your parade but the #1 rule of marketing / selling is that you need to find NOT those who need your stuff the most but those who WANT it the most.

If they don't have a website, they probably don't give a crap about websites and don't think these can be of any use to them. They may also may not have any budget. The have a "need" but because they don't have a "want", they don't see "no website" as a problem.

Methinks you are much better off going after those who have websites but need help (and chances are, they WANT that help too).

Very true Alex, people always buy what they WANT and NOT what they NEED, so frustrating when you see a ton of potential sales who just don't want to know.

If you are going to go for it Reddevil007 you will need to pitch at what they want first not at selling them a website... Try to find out what their total sales were last year and what their target is this year and then your pitch would be along the lines of "I can help you smash your turnover and profit targets".... hope they bite then you can demonstrate how using an optimised website can get them much greater sales.

"OK so you turned over £1million last year that's great, now imagine turning over double!... here's what we can do to help!!!"

If their best idea got them to where they are today..., it's someone else's ideas that can take them where they want to be tomorrow...

Alex is 100% right if you go in pitching a website you'll probably get a frosty reception as they have no concept of what it can do for them, however appeal to their business sense and you'll have their ears twitching. Still might not be the easiest though you will need to pull out proof to backup your pitch early on to keep their ear and you'll need to add plenty of subliminal compliments like "we know you're sensible business people who know your field and your competition are all jumping on this, we know you wouldn't want to get left behind being the successful professionals you are..!"

Its all about pitching to their want's and not their needs to get the sale you want.

Hope this is helpful please hit the "thanks" if it is guys... Cheers ----------->>

I won't tell you to do cold calling, because you've clearly heard it but don't want to...however, it is a better option than blind emails that will get marked as spam if not expected.

The benefit to cold calling is that you get the INTERESTED people. Sure, some will just say to send it because they want to get off the phone, but a good caller will ensure that your lead is a lead and they expect your email. Not to mention they will verify that the email address is viable and you aren't wasting your time.
