So I was wondering is it possible to rank ahead of the blended 7 places listings followed by 6 organic sites Google algorithm, with an organic website? I'm planning on doing a lead generation rental site for the plumbing niche. Was wondering if anyone know if this is possible and how difficult it generally is to do.

    Provide a little bit more detail.....

    7 places? 6 organic sites? 1 rented site? Are these all your places...... Maybe I'm just not reading this correctly.

    Of course things "can" be done.

    The Warriors on here will offer great insight and advice, just give them more details like, traffic, etc.

      To clarify, say I wanted to do a rental site for the keyword boston plumber as an example, I make the domain bostonplumber.com. The first page results for the keyword on google has 7 places listings occupying the top 7 spots, then a few organic results. The question I'm asking is has google decided the first seven spots for this keyword are going to be places listings or if you do good seo, can you rank your wordpress niche site above them.

        I have lots of websites that are above the Google Plus Local listings.
        So it's very possible. I have no idea if your specific search terms will make it hard or nearly impossible. I suspect that "Bostonplumber.com" isn't going to be a walk in the park.

        It might be easier ranking with a Youtube video.

        But if you're planning an exact match domain name, you better follow several guidelines to avoid the latest penalty. A 5 page optimized wordpress site won't do it. You'll be competing with websites that are aged authority websites with thousands of relevant pages and inbound links.

        You'll be competing with directories that have very high page rank. And you have to be smarter than the smartest SEO guy in Boston selling plumber websites.

          Totally agree. A Youtube listing is getting love these days in the serps. EMD's are still working just as well as they always have done. Just be be careful what sources you're using for your backlinking!
