Are the terms "SEO' and "SMS' hurting your sales?

I just had a phone call with a fellow Warrior and it reminded
me of a theory I have.

Whenever I write an ad selling services like SEO, SMS,
or QR codes, I do NOT use those terms.

One reason is because they can be confusing (we forget most
of the business world does not use these terms regularly).

The other problem can be they had a bad experience (more
so with SEO). Just them hearing/seeing that term could
defuse their interest.

Whether you're in person, sending out emails, postcards or
letters one thing you want to avoid is confusion. You are
100% better off explaining out the benefits of these services.

No technical poo-poo either.

If your prospect gets confused, your job gets A LOT harder,
and you're screwed if you lose them in a direct mail piece.

Take them by the hand and guide them through all the
glorious wonders of having your service... not things
that make you sound smart.

They really could give a squat

Of course. Most emails and postcards i receive end up confusing me. That's the mistakes most people make, its not going to a lot for you to explain the benefits of your services to a potential customer.

I totally agree with you; you might have a hot lead but you end up burning it because you are using too much of techie words.

I personally use analogies in all my sales letters..It helps the laymen to visualize what I am selling..

For example for seo; you can easily use a house as analogy with the roof, base, pillars as well as colors etc..

    It works wonders..

The aim of marketing is to make selling superfluous. The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well that the product or service fits him and sells itself.....
