Why does it seem as the american guys are just pumping sales at every corner?

Why does it seem as if the american business owners arent as ignorant to the web as our business owners?

We've got them biggest, of them all! LOL I had to do that...

I think in the US business owners just realize more the importance of having an online presence and how big it is now in this Social Media era

It's simply not true, loads of us are making a a lot of money.

Maybe the difference is that the American guys talk about it more, although I'd take a lot of their "earnings" with a Pinch of salt.

I honestly don't know how the guys who are running full time businesses have time during the day to get on here, all of this selling shit takes up all of my time.

      Exactly.

There is a ridiculous amount of BS on this forum.

When you look into some of the guys who post on here that claim to be the oracles of sales and marketing, it can make you second guess a lot of the stuff here.

In saying that, this forum is amazing. Lots of quality advice and even the BSers are helping just by inspiring people to get out there and take action

    I was joking above...But:

It makes sense, there is just more money in America than alot of places... Thats really the truth of it. Where there is more money, there are more qualified customers.

There's also a hell of a lot less competition over here. Nobody I ever speak to have ever even heard of WF, that gives you a huge advantage over the guy sat in his bedroom thinking "I'm gonna sell websites"

Everything you need is available for free right on this forum where most people just have to go into business blind.

The may be more businesses so therefore more money to be made in the states, but most UK businesses would rather work with a UK supplier, so target them.

it takes balls and confidence in the US! no matter what... people are insecure and have "shields" up so that they don't get taken advantage of. it works the SAME for hot girls as it does for rich business owners... they think everyone is trying to take advantage of them!!!

so just show that you can provide some value and be confident in yourself and impress everyone who needs to be impressed, like a true marketing professional

Alot of people here are just hating on Americans, again I say; it just makes sense. Where there are more qualified customers there are more sales to be made. Where there are more densely populated cities, there are more prospecting opportunities within them. Americans are no more full of bs than anyone else. In fact I can think of SOME places that are full of ALOT more Bs (ie; "I just inherited ten million dollars and I cant access it, I need you to help me access the fund and I will give you a cut...")

Some other countries are even KNOWN for making fake copies of every brand name on the planet and sell them on ebay as real...

It just makes common horse sense demographically, that some places are more viable to sell volume in than others... Even WITHIN America, some places are more saturated than others, and some places have a bigger tolerance for higher prices than others... Its demographics.

Prospecting for web design is easier in Branson Missouri than it is in Silicon Valley... However in California, you can charge twice the price as you can in Missouri. It just makes basic sense. You cant NOT MAKE SENSE just because its the internet.

I think the general feeling is that the yanks are full of bs but trust me so are a few business owners in the uk.

I say to the moaners if the uk sucks that much pick up the phone and cold call american businesses, they love the uk accent.

unfortuntely the yanks dont get that same love in the uk.

so stop moaning folks theres ups and downs to the country you live in!

I believe they've hit the nail on the head above: BS. Honestly, there seems to be a lot of bs coming from other countries as well. I had to turn off a webinar a few weeks ago because I couldn't stand the voice of the Korean guest. He showed a picture that was clearly a stock photo and was bragging about how he bought it.

Maybe it seems like Americans are doing better because we are louder though. lol.

I think everybody has lost the point of this thread, it's not about who can bullshit the best or the most or the loudest, it's about the fact that its not true that only the American guys are making sales.

This is a belief that is given weight by the fact that most of the guys on this forum are American and a lot of the guys who boast success are American, my point earlier was that you shouldn't believe the stories of guys on an Internet forum, it is too easy to lie, and I know for a fact that some of the "top guys" around here straight up lie about their income.

I make a god damn hell ass fortune and I'm in the UK, I spoke to a dude the other day in Norway making a killing. The kicker is that we both don't do too much business outside of the cities we live in.

I've sold to America, England and Australia this week, absolutely no difference between the business owners, they want more money and if you can convince them that giving you £x will make them £xx they will buy from you.

Then if you actually do it, they will tell all of their friends and colleagues about you, then they will buy from you. Business is business wherever you are.

Note: I know very little about business or sales, I do know how to talk to people, SEO and how much I can make for somebody. So far that's all I have needed.

How many UK business owners/ leaders are hot in Social Media?

How much 4G coverage/usage is there in UK?

How much do consumers truly use their mobiles to discover purchasing opportunities in the UK?

We (UK) are well behind the USA in much of the internet/ mobile marketing sphere, this puts us in a good position as our US cousins can do all the testing, and we just roll up a year later and do what works .

UK businesses (at SME and lower certainly) are more risk averse and dont think ROI , they see a lot as an expense not an investment.

As John Durham says, there is more business in the US, a closer spread of consumers, businesses, most of the US cities are better formed for this form of marketing than it's UK counterparts, location based, google places, when you have a catchment area of higher numbers then you have a slightly easier sell.

Yes my comment was tongue in cheek.

Generally US is much more business orientated. And they'll take on a bit of risk for rewards.

    America = Business

The one bragging are the ones posting. Now, how much truth there is to every post I do not know. But there are plenty on NON US people making good money as well?

And yes...the UK is catching up on the B*S* front. We seem to follow the U.S.A. by about 10 years.

I kinda agree with John. However, I'm not sure that we have bigger balls than other groups of people. If we did, we wouldn't need to wage wars using robots rather than men.

I think what we really have is a certain "American Spirit". What I mean by that? I think Americans are for the most part, a positive group of people. A small fraction of us don't believe in the American dream anymore, but I think most people still do.

Even if you DON'T believe in the "American Dream", you still realize, that America has a lot of opportunity. I think it honestly comes down to us being positive people more than anything.

Why do I say this? Well simple. I've spoken to quite a lot of foreign girls in my life. Especially when I was in the seduction community many years back in college. Many of these girls always said the same thing about American guys. "They're always smiling and laughing, and having a good time".

EVEN WHEN we get angry about things, the first thing we do right afterwards is make a joke. So I think this makes us a positive group of people. But having "balls"... I honestly am not sure about that. I think JD definitely has balls. And I have balls. But I think our culture as a whole is losing balls by the generation. Look at all the men who can't even approach a woman just to say "hi". NEVERMIND ask them on a date. Or all the men who come on here scared to make a phone call to a business. Technology is definitely helping us lose our balls. But we still stay optimistic about things.

Thats just my take on Americans - Red

Well, for the most part this is where the disposable income is. And where the customers are. If you look at anything in IM you're always going to see that the buyers are mostly in the USA.

To keep on topic - the US is simply a larger, more mature, more risk-tolerant market with a different culture of marketing.
