I want an iPad, someone had an idea, will this work?

October is a my SUPER busy month, and it's just about over with. I will be glad for life to slow down so I can work on a few projects that I've had busting at the seams for attention. Good things are on the horizon.
Anyway, I was hanging out with a group of guys that I very rarely see this past weekend, and one of them had a great idea. I was mentioning that I really want an iPad, but really don't want to (or need to) shell out the money for one, even though the iPad 1 and iPad 2 models are dropping (slowly) in price.
Anyway, this guy, who is a very successful insurance agent in another state, gave me an idea. I wanted to run it past you for the legality and logistic ideas.
He said that I should run a raffle for a brand new iPad. Sell 100 tickets at $10 each, and I have enough to buy the winner an iPad and then I can buy one for myself as well. I have thought about raffles for other things, but never for something personally.
How could I do that? Better yet, how could I do that online - or, on Ebay (well, raffles on Ebay are against their policy,) or some other venue?
Obviously, one of the biggest issues is the trust issue, because people could assuem that I'd run off with their money.
Anyway, ideas for how I could do it would be very appreciated.
