Big Names In OFFLINE Marketing You Know On Warrior Forum?

Hi everybody,

I've been on WF for some time now but have never actually explored the OFFLINE section until lately... And I'm surprised to find the value and quality offered here for free!

And yes... I'm going to say this: I Wish I Had Known Earlier...!!

I'd like to find more people to follow here on WF in the OFFLINE niche.

Know any Offline Marketer you would recommend to people running an offline business??
Please share!

Please kindly include these details:

1. Names of nicknames of marketers who have seen tangible results in the OFFLINE arena themselves. They don't have to earn big bucks but just someone who have actually generated results.

2. Why you think people in the offline niche should follow them.

Thanks!

You know, people like John Durham, IamNameless, EwenMack, Kenmichaels, Bob Ross, Midasman and so on are always the best at providing usefull posts for all the newbies trying to "make it". Yet, the biggest disadvantage is that I do not if any of those marketers have real success in running a real business. I only ASSUME they do have success because of the nature of their posts. There was one shining star - "Local" wich seemed to be a fake. The people I am mentioning in this post are far from looking like her/him. These people could provide you with directions but only you are able to work it.

Why are you on the forum if everyone is a scammer, then?

Why do you think I look like a paranoic when in fact I am not. I always want to learn something new from the people I have mentioned and I am thankful to all them for sharing their experience. The OP looks for someone who has has a succesfull business, and I have given him direction on people who may have one at this level, I just gave him the names and that's all. Yet, I don't know in particular what their real offline business is all about, I just formed my overall oppinion on them wich results from their posts. Most likely they do have a successful business but I don't want to be wrong. I don't want to continue this anymore as it will get the thread nowhere. (if you feel the need to reply me then send a message).
I am on this forum to share my experience and knowledge with the others, and also learn from them.

Hey Maricelu, thanks for your input, appreciate that. Btw I'm a 'her' not a 'him'

              And thanks everybody for sharing.

Honestly speaking, I'd have done things a WHOLE LOT differently if I had read some of the posts here earlier. I see genuine people here helping others to succeed by giving quality information. Of course everybody has different agendas but to me that's secondary. What matters is quality information put in the hands of people who are putting in real effort and time to start a business.

I used to be pretty much alone - doing my own thing and coming to the forum to look for information by browsing around. But I've made a few friends down the road and they've been such a blessing to me - pointing me to names I can follow, names (much like a brand ) whom you know you can depend on for good information. Not that I depend on anybody on WF for my business but at least you know they are trustworthy based on two things:

              1. They've seen success themselves.
              2. They have the integrity to give you good information that will point you towards getting the same success as themselves.

Wow. Well, I can't speak for others, and I do know that there are plenty of people here on WF that are "legends in their own minds" and no one knows who they are OUTSIDE of WF. However for us, we just found WF last year, and before that had been in business for ourselves for 7 years with 19 years in the industry - WITHOUT being on WF. If we were unsuccessful we'd be living under a bridge.

With that said: Esther, people that have proven themselves valuable OUTSIDE of WF to me are:

      Ken Michaels
      Iamnameless
      John Durham

There are many others that are helpful (including myself), but on a personal experience level and people that have contributed to my own business or that can speak with me about things and know what I'm talking about...that is who I recommend.

      Dont look me up !

I doesnt want to go back to corporate with all that trouble nowadays... especially not as a senior director in one of the largest companies in the world, having a responsibility of 120-150 people, a 3 digit hundred million dollar department and 50.000 customers.

Have you heard of due dilligence, also at people level ?

I like skeptics. I'm a skeptic myself. But you haven't been reading their posts with a trained eye. They are real. Most of these guys consult, and experienced business owners hire them. A fake would be exposed before they said ten words.
You can't continually fake experience, and you can't fake smarts.

And...fellow skeptic...you made a mistake.. it's "John Durham, IamNameless, EwenMack, Kenmichaels, Bob Ross, Midasman, Claude Whitacre...and so on.."

Didn't you get the memo? (The Dark Knight reference I've been waiting to use for a couple of years now)

And Aaron Doud, Redshifted, Rearden, Mwind076, and....the legend....Jason Kanigan are sharp cookies too.

There are more, but my "sucking up" credits got used up for today.

Young Man; I want to apologize. The first time I read this post it sounded a little insulting to me, and so I responded in kind, jokingly...but with a little sting. I've re-read your post and now see that this wasn't your intent.

I'm skeptical too. And I have a foolproof way to tell if the posts here are BS:
The top names won't respond to the posts. And it's impossible to hide the fact, if your a poser.

There is no need to apologize, Claude. In fact, I think my post lacks clarity as english is my 3rd language. People I have quoted here are worth following and it would be nice for me to meet at least one of them. I don't know too much about you, but it may be so because I am relatively new here and only browsing this section of the forum... but the fact that you share respect to "younger marketers" will have me looking into your posts . I always believe in discovering and doing something new when it comes to marketing.

That's the thing you'll find on the offline section is that there is a ton of good free info. Pay attention to the ones that offer up good free info and are just trying to help others. I would mention others but they've already been mentioned above. Like I said, there are a few awesome threads on here dealing with all sorts of areas of offline business. Everything from Craigslist ads, website business, business directories, SEO, PPC, you name it. Tons of good free advice to get you going.

The main thing is to pick one area you want to focus in and "focus" on it. Don't skip from one thing to the next. The guys mentioned above all have been there and done it. But, they focus on their thing if you know what I mean. If you focus and follow though the offline game is very easy to be successful in. It's work like anything else though.

Some names are repeatedly mentioned throughout this thread, but little detail is given as to why people should follow them.

If you've made recommendations, could you provide more details about people whom you've recommended?

I think you are wasting your time. For someone that wants the big names in the forum, you sure are trying to be very thorough in just the fact that you want to know who is real and who is legit. That's cool, but your time could be better spent elsewhere.

I'm mentioned in this thread, but I tell you the truth, if you spend your time deciding whether to follow me or not to follow me, it will get you nowhere. Even following me, would not get you results. Do you think you can learn something from people on here? Maybe so... I learn all the time... there are hundreds of thousands of members on this forum and even more just browsing that are learning too. Learning, doesn't make money.

If you're looking for people to follow, so you can make money, your perception is very much tainted. If you're busy following people, you're wasting time, which is wasting money.

      Use common sense...

Are you here to learn how to start a business? Most people don't even know the difference between a sole prop, s corp, c corp and llc. Good luck with that.

Are you here to learn how to get clients? Cool, people can help you with learning how, but only you can actually, DO.

I stopped posting as often on here because I'm tired of fakes, I'm tired of bad information, and I'm tired of having to be Cpt. A hole because people want to mislead others.

A lot of people try to position themselves as experts in certain areas so they can use threads and posts as a prelude to a WSO. It happens... some WSOs are actually good, but you will spend a fortune trying to find them.

Anyway, I don't see the point in following someone else. I have learned a lot here from other warriors. I never had a background in sales and there are members here that have trained teams and teams of people, far more advanced than me. Someone brings up take aways or turn overs and other terms, I dunno what it means, I have my own terms for things I have learned along the way. I started out doing one call close cold calls, it was the only thing I tried... Thankfully I never came across the appointment setting technique so many people on here use... Perfect example of why it is good to only be yourself

What if you decide to follow certain people and they are against direct mailing? Are you going to let that effect you and determine that you don't want to test and see how it works out for you? That can drastically effect your business.

Why don't YOU tell us WHY you want to follow someone, and what it is that YOU are trying to do? Maybe we can help if you give those details. Are you just trying to learn? Are you trying to learn important marketing techniques? Are you trying to learn about cold calling? Direct mailing? Emailing? LinkedIn? What?

Those of us that are successful, do many things and have a real marketing plan of strategies we tie together.

Next... even though I don't understand why you would want to follow people in order to better yourself..... I want to bring up a more important issue.. Why would you ask others who to follow instead of determining that by yourself with what relates to you and what makes sense and fits into your goals and business plans?

This sums it up. Pick the type of business that interests you. (Sell websites, SEO, PPC services, etc. Whatever interests you the most.) Look around at the different techniques people are using to get customers. Free info is everywhere on here. Determine which interest you the most as a way to get clients. Go start getting clients. If you like what you are doing keep doing it. If not then start testing other things and adding those in until you find what really excites you.

Being interested in what you are doing will help you stay focused. Also, like nameless said above...I'm a PPC Expert. That excites me the most. But, I also build websites, I use craigslist to get clients, linked in, ppc on several networks, word of mouth, direct mail, whatever. It all works if you do the research and marketing correctly.

I didn't learn all of those over night. It's taken me years and years. Over that time though I've realized what I like and what I don't. I don't like cold calling. Does it work. Heck yes! I've done it personally. I just don't like it so I outsource it. But, the point is like nameless basically said, it's all an effective way to get business.

You mentioned coming from the other forums. You might have seen guys selling SEO courses. Guess what? They are using PPC, affiliates, SEO, email, and anything else they can to sell their course. You can't just rely on one thing. But, you do have to start with one while you are learning.

Pick one thing to start with. Focus and see it through to being successful. If you find you don't like it fine. But, that success will translate into other things you will like. You've got to get that first win under your belt though. This isn't rocket science. Anyone who is focused and dedicated to success can do this. Just got to be hungry and get ready to overlook the rejection.

It's all a numbers game. You ask 100 people about building a website and 1 will say yes. As you do it more you'll get better at it and 2-3 will say yes. Then, 3-5 will say yes. I saw the success nameless was having on Craigslist so I starting emailing people on there about website gigs across the US. I spent about 12 or so hours over a couple of weeks of emailing people (tweaking and testing different emails as I went). I got to the point that 8 people out of every 100 I contacted would sign on as a client. I started with 1 out of every 100. I sold as much as $2,000 in work in 1 day. I was just testing it out. Not doing it full time. Then, I got someone else doing it for me.

Sorry to turn this into a novel. But, the point is pick something that you think you can do and fits your interests. Then, do it full force only focused on that. Get success with it. If you don't like it outsource it once it's working. Just see it through. That's where most fail. They say X doesn't work. I tried it. I don't buy that. I did the Craigslist thing just out of curiosity and found that it's a great free way to get a ton of business. Imagine if I started running ads. I'd be swamped with work. (Obviously after I tested and tweaked my ads. I'm really only focused on my info product/training business these days if you are wondering why I don't want to be swamped with work. . Semi-retired.)

So, pick a technique and just hit the ground with it. As you run into problems and have questions come back for solutions. Just don't sit on here all day trying to learn everything before trying it out. Learn as you go and make money.

? A little confused why you asked who the big fishes and then ask for people to give reasons as to why you should follow them, what and why people see in others is for reasons to them and in many ways following blindly what others do without making your own judgment just leads to more sheeple being created.

Better to quietly look and see who floats your boat and paddle that stream without all of the splashing around in the water.

I have something funny to say but kind of insightful at the same time. I had a email account open that I give when I dont want to give my real email address, My wife was looking at it and noticed that I was getting alot of emails from the same person who happens to be a offline guru of sorts on the forum. She says why does this guy send you some much email about this business and that business and I tried to explain it to her as best as I could. She has no clue about internet marketing but she says to me if this guy is making so much money why is he going to tell you about for $10 bucks,I would keep it to myself!

Once again I tried in vain to explain it to her but she said well how can he be doing all these diffrent businesses and making any money plus he's emailing you everyday. I silently sat there and thought to myself she made alot of sense. I see people on her like nameless, john, russ hayes, ken and some others that are not posting a wso every other day but giving some good advice because they like to share and have a sense of community.

nameless is right there are alot of fakes out there,I have seen people show up on this offline forum post some content then next thing you know they are posting a wso on how they make millions in their underwear.

anyways sorry to go on a rant but the people who post good info like the ones I mentioned keep it up!

    Hey what about Seantrepreneur?? haha

My advice is take some time and comb through the offline section yourself to really see who is providing value that resonates with you. Some ppl might have a way of presenting things in one way that you don't like while others presenting stuff differently.

Take Nameless for example, some ppl seem to have an issue with how blunt he is. I personally love the guy and I think he content/opinions are dead on mostly every time.

I like presenting stuff on the brighter side of things although I'll tell you if I think you're going to have a tough time doing something because I don't want you to waste your time. While others will try convincing you can live in a town of 15 ppl with no internet access and sell mobile websites for $500 a pop if you buy their ebook.

A few really good names have already been mentioned, but I would suggest taking the time to research them for yourself as well as join in the conservation here in the offline section. I can say personally without a shadow of a doubt that if it wasn't for this section on the WF I wouldn't be were I am today. Which happens to be in business for myself for over a year now and going strong!!
