Too many of the Same Clients?

I was reading a WSO that said If i were to have too many of the same sites in any industry, it would leave an SEO footprint and hurt the rankings.

So if I had 20 plumbing clients ranking throughout a few US states, it would hurt me. Any thoughts on this?

I feel like Google knows there are companies running people's websites out there, why would they hurt us for it?

    Hi,

I cant comment for Google regarding them penalising your sites if you had a few of them on the same hosting account but I believe that if you had different content on them it would be ok especially if they had different business addresses.

I usually have a different host with my spread of service companies on there. I try not to duplicate the themes ad niches on the hosting site such as 2 plumber, 3 locksmiths because Google is a machine after all and sees blak and white.

I must say though that I have a bluehost account with at least 6 companies in the same niche with different content and some with the same address on page 1 for various search terms.

So in conclusion if you want to be ultra careful use different hosts for your spread of niches and where possible different addresses.

    As I said I haven't really seen a problem.

I agree don't put all your eggs in one basket. Spread your sites across many hosts and do regular backups.

I have about as many clients in one industry. As long as the content is different, there shouldn't be a problem.

But I wouldn't link them all together. Massive cross linking does leave a footprint, a bad one.

That's like saying all 10,000 sites on the same NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO-NO- server or hostgator server will leave a footprint and not allow you to rank.

    It is BS...

Keep in mind, most people that are releasing WSOs, are doing so because they don't know how to make money any other way. Not everyone, but a lot.

This, what you heard in that WSO, is total BS.

edit: no-no-no-no apparently is substituting for go d addy

unrelated to OP, but more people need to know this...

I know WSO's can be BS. That's why I got on here to confirm. There was a lot of iffy information in it, but it wasn't a total waste of time.
