Do you use clients vision/ about us pages content

when you approach them either by phone/ mail /etc ?
eg a business I just won , a professional make up concern, has certain wording on their site 'I pride myself in making my clients feel relaxed and comfortable.........'

So when talking to her on the phone, I simply mentioned 'I pride myself on reducing the stress for my clients by ........' the connection was made simply through mirroring her words.
I know this mirroring concept is nothing new, but you can use these pages content to create specific approaches to our, especially more lucrative, prospects.

Many businesses have their visions, mission statements etc on their sites, and whilst some struggle to live by those standards , to be able to resonate with them via similar wording will help create the bond to take the relationship further.

I feel like this goes along with doing client research before a pitch. How many times have you heard "Know your audience." Probably a thousand... Well there's a reason behind it lol.

I find that when I do a lot of research ahead of time, I have a better grasp of the client's social preferences, and the overall tone that the pitch will take. I pride myself on making people feel at ease, and I do this by striving to understand possible motives beyond their plans. This is not to say that you should judge a book by its cover, so to speak. But, keeping with the book analogy, examine the book as a whole and by reading the synopsis you might be able to decipher the overall social message the writer is trying to convey - just as you might eventually discover the driving force behind a client's business. Once you know what that force is, you can use it to better polish your pitch.

yesterday i was doing some research and get to a site where they say they offered personalized services, but their site was an ugly 1998 template with flash that was had no personality at all.
i smiled and think for my self that that would be an easy sell(at least in my head) since i would be offering personalized webdesign.
