Proof that local EMDs Still Rank Well?

I'm looking to start offering lead gen services to my clients. This would involve ranking simple 2-3 page lead gen sites using local exact match domains.

For example:

drivinglessonsnorwich.co.uk

Does this still work with all the recent Google fuss?

I see some EMDs still around in local, but just wanted to get some feedback from warriors who actually have been doing this recently, as the changes have definitely been big, and I haven't been doing SEO much for several months...

Any feedback from knowledgeable warriors would be appreciated

    I'm still using EMD's to rank lead gen sites.

    Just last week bought and ranked one, waiting for it to generate a few more leads before we rent it out. It's actually very similar to the domain in your example.

    They still rank well, just be careful of over optimisation.

      I had about 100 sites drop out of site. The ones that didn't weren't over optimized.

      A few tips;

      Keyword density over 2% is not good.
      Most links going to the home page is not good
      High % of links being Dofollow isn't good
      Over optimized title, H1,H2 is bad
      Most text links being your main keywords is bad

      My new sites have a minimum of 50 pages of content, photos, a few videos, outgoing links to authority sites. I don't want to go through this again.
