Exit Pops On Your Offline Site & your Clients

I haven't posted on here for a while, so I just thought I'd report back my latest results of a test I undertook over the last 4 weeks.

What Was I Testing?

I was testing the effectiveness of having an exit pop on both my own offline sites and my client's sites.

The results might amaze you! Trust me, they amazed me.

What Was The Exit Pop?

This wasn't lead generation with a crappy PLR product. I was targeting each topic on the site and asking people to sign up for additional information on the topic. For example, the web design page had a web design popup for more info.

What Were The Results?

Guys, the results were amazing and I really don't know why I didn't test this out before. I think (with my hand on my heart) prospective clients would get pis*ed off with this really annoying exit pop. However, if you're in the IM niche, you've probably come across this sort of thing a million times a day. These prospective clients on the other hand don't.

Exit Pop Is Actually Outperforming

That's the beauty in testing. Now, if someone would have posted a thread on here asking about this technique, they'd probably be shot down in flames for even asking. I can categorically tell you that the exit pop is actually outperforming the main sign up page 3-1.

Now, a quick disclaimer: This worked for me and worked on the 8 sites that I tried this with. You may not have the same results, so it may be best to test this.

Tip From Des

I was using an exit pop software that auto filled their name and address into the opt-in fields which wasn't used on the main sign-up form, so this may have skewed the results somewhat. However, if it works, it works right?

Will People Disagree With This Method?

Maybe, but I really don't care. This technique increased the opt-ins for info for both my clients and my own sites and we all followed up on those leads. I think we can sometimes get a bit of tunnel vision when it comes to marketing and just assume that the things that are working in IM simply won't or shouldn't work in other niches. I think this is the wrong way of thinking and these results clearly show this.

I don't think I'm allowed to post the name of the exit pop script on here, but feel free to send me PM for the auto fill pop up name and I'll gladly supply it to you.

If you do test this out, please subscribe to this thread and then report your results, or feel free to hit me up via PM or skype me. I'd love to hear your results.

Guys good luck, and I hope this might help some of your get your gold stars with your offline clients.

BTW, I didn't charge them for this service since I was just testing. However, there's no reason why you can't charge a fee to incorporate this for them on their websites.

Cheers and good luck!
