Craigslist - This posting is being blocked ?

This is the error message I am getting from Craig's List

--------------------------------
This posting is being blocked

You have exceeded the posting volume limit for this account/email.

Craigslist readers strongly prefer not to see the same posting listed multiple times.

Please help us out by not overposting your listing.
-------------------------------

I am posting different ads with different images and titles in two different locations/two categories for a total of 4 ads.

I also posted a bunch of ads for my husband's car lot which I never have issues with, but I am not sure if I am posting too much on one account since I posted his stuff too. I also post his ads in 3 different locations without problems.

Soooooo, anyone have any idea if I just need to wait a while to repost it, or will that be a waste of time?

Any ideas how to get around this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I've read that there is a limit on the number of posts per account. I believe its 3 posts per day.

I posted 51 ads for my husband about two hours before I started on mine so I don't think that is the issue, but thanks for trying to help!

51 ads posted!? You were lucky that they let you post so many without blocking your account...

We do it every week. He has a car lot and inventory is constantly changing. I have never had a problem before.

For sale section is basically unlimited...

Services section the limit is 3. You will likely end up with a ghosted account soon.

So far I am not ghosted so I am keeping my fingers crossed.

With only being able to post 3 ads to the services section you would need a ton of accounts to be able to do anything substantial which is understandable, but yet still annoying.

The thing I don't understand is that I keep seeing other ads that are EXACTLY the same....Title is the same word for word, the ad itself is exactly the same, and they have multiple ads running in the same section.... Heck some of them are even right next to each other. I don't understand how they get away with it.

You'll need to post different ads with different titles - also different sections of Craigslist will allow for more ads. For example: the "for sale" section will allow you to post more ads and is less strict, but the "services section" limits 3 ads per account typically. This is probably the reason your husband is able to post so many different car ads, and you're having trouble posting.

I was posting different titles and in different sections, but I was on my 4th ad for the services section so I guess that is what happened.

Time to get something out of paying for kids cell phones and open some more accounts lol

Cars and such for sale by dealer allows greater limits. Though I still suggest restraint since you don't want to flood the page and piss of the community. Once pissed off they will flag your posts all the time. I post about 4 to 6 RVs per day to craiglist with no problem on a rolling 5 day basis (renew or delete/repost).

Most other posts beyond 3 will get "ghosted" or blocked for a lot of people.

CL also doesn't like people posting to multiple areas. Especially when the add is the same.

Trust me, I am not flooding the page. There are bigger dealers out there who kill the for sale section with ads that have titles specific to year/make/model but the ads itself is generic and exactly the same...I am talking tons of them. I can post an ad and within the hour I am on page 12!

Most of mine are renew/delete/repost as well so I am not actually putting up brand new ads every day.

update: I renewed 51 ads this morning at 8:30 and I am on page 14 now.

Have you considered spreading out the renews over the day? Sounds like that section is really flooded with dealers so you will get people searching but not catch many customers just checking the cars section.

To your other problem you could create a second account you only use to post some of your personal ads and only use it from a public wifi spot. If you go out to eat lunch every day this is a nice way to turn those into business miles.

Actually, I never have spread them out during the day. I just might give that a go. Thanks for the idea!

So far my husband and I each have our own accounts that we use, but I might make a couple more using my kids phones.

I never go out to eat lunch. Heck, it would cost me more in gas than it would to pay for lunch since I am so far out in the boonies lol. Getting a new IP isn't an issue for me, I have HMA and can change it when I want. (But I probably should get out...just for the sake of getting out)

Not exactly, CL blocks those IPs VERY quickly.

I've posted many ads on CL in the "for sale by owner' in many different categories in the past, then I post one ad that got flagged, obviously by someone selling similar items, and now my account is blocked, as I get the "This posting is being blocked" message with an "edit" button that goes back to my original posting page. Editing any or all of the posting changes nothing. Now all my attempts to post get the same message page. I can try creating a new account with a different email, but I think CL uses browser authentication which will show me as the same, and also my phone verification will be the same number, so am I just out of luck here? I can't believe CL lets users have this much power in messing it up for others . . .anyone have any ideas to share please???
