I have been placing adverts for sales agents to sell mobile websites, on sites such as Gumtree etc. Now I am getting people to respond to each advert asking for more information, but once I send an in depth email explaining everything, I never hear from them again. I have even sent follow up emails to some asking if they are still interested, but nothing.

I am offering a 50% commission and full support. Cannot understand why none of them are responding, and getting a little frustrated, that I cannot get things moving.

Have any warriors experienced this before? Any advice would be appreciated?

Don't know if this matters, but I am posting them under the jobs category, so if you think there is a better category, I would love to hear your suggestions.

Would you be willing to post a copy of your ad?

My guess is the ad is not designed in a way to convert and if rewritten with help from others on this board you will get results.

      Hi Aaron

I am using ads that were supplied in a WSO, so I am not sure if I can post them on the forum or I would be happy to.

    Not sure about that either.

Not sure if you have read Chet Holmes but here is an example of his headline
"Superstars only. $50k to $300k. Don't even call unless you are an overachiever and can prove it. Come build an empire within our company."

Read the ad and ask yourself would you answer it? Would your friends and family?

If not maybe we could start from stratch in here and forget about the WSO.

How much is the 50% worth? $500 on every sale? How much could a guy make in the first year? Use those kind of numbers.

No one cares about 50% commission. They care about the money in their pocket and how easy it will be.

$500+ Per Sales. Close 3 to 5/wk Full Time; 1 to 2/wk Part Time

That is the stuff that will have them calling you.

But if they will only make $100/sale and sell 1 or less per week you need to rethink your pricing before redoing that ad.

Hope what I gave helped. Hard to give specific advice in this situation.

I understand that without being able to see my ad it is probably difficult. But I think you may have a point with the headline, mine have been along the lines of Talented Sales People Wanted.

They would earn £130 each site, and depending on how good they are could sell more than 1 or 2 a week I think, as I include bonuses with the mobile websites that others are not.

      Your help is appreciated.

To save you some time, I've learned, you better just start selling yourself and then hire people in house that you can watch because the work from home salesman are mostly weak, or they are selling stuff already ...lol

Are you currently selling the mobile sites yourself?

I was in the same situation a while back. Great salespeople are usually looking for the next gig that pays more money. 130 a wk or 260 isn't going to work.

If you change the ad to say "Easy sales for great phone person. 650-920/wk" it'll hook some fish.

Then your job is to let them know that a couple sales a day is a piece of cake. A good phone person will know this, anyway.

Tell them that all they do is phone the co. to let them know that their website is not optimized for mobile. The sales person will put it in their own words. This actually works better door to door because the sales guy can show them what the site looks like from a mobile phone.

For someone calling or going door to door, one sale a day IS easy, if they're good.

How many hours would they be putting in and what in minimum wage there?

Also would they be employees or self employeed?

That pay seems low to me honestly. Just do the math and you will see they would be making less then 20k a year. And it looks like the average pay in the UK is just above that.

Sales is a hard job so I know in the US most sales job pay abover average.

Of course if a sales person for you could sell 5 a week that would make a big difference so a lot will have to do with how hard the sales process is.

They would be self-employed, how many hours they work would be their choice. I have a small guide I have written that guides them on how to walk in to businesses and show them a demo site etc as I think that would be the better way to sell mobile, but they could use cold calling or emailing etc as well if they wish. To be honest the price for the websites and the commission rate, I also got from the same WSO.

Would you suggest giving them a larger percentage, so I make less? The problem with that is, I was going to outsource some of the site creation when I get too many orders to do by myself, and would not make much profit on each sale.

    Percentage seems good.

But if the price you are charging doesn't work you may want to raise prices.

A lot of this is hard to know one way or the other as only you know your business and market.

But on a side note a WSO is not a business. They may provide great value but you need to customize it to fit your product, costs, and market.

I would suggest selling a bit yourself if you have not already to get a feel for how hard or easy the sale will be.

You want it to be easy enough that an average sales person will make an average wage and when you find a superstar they can make great pay.

I also don't know how self employment works in the UK so I am not sure how much of the pay would be lost to taxes and such.

You just want to make sure the pay is worth the effort. if not all you will get is low quality sales people who will not help grow your business.

Before you start sending info packs or trying to convince someone
to sell your services you need to start asking for resumes.

The point is positioning... right now it sounds to me like you are
positioned as a desperate person looking for someone to do the heavy
lifting so you can earn some money.

You need to position your offer as something rare and desirable that
    they need to qualify for.

    Step 1 is a resume
Step 2 is... Congratulations, you made it past the resume round with the
group who are now invited to complete our online application.
Step 3 is Congratulations, upon review of your application we feel strongly
enough about you to invite you to a personal telephone interview.
Step 4 is We're prepared to make you an offer. Here it is.

There are hoops... they need to qualify... you aren't begging anyone
to make money. They need to show you what they can bring to the table.

You'll get a much better employee who will respect you far more for your professionalism.

Tsyner is rigth... I hired and trained sales people nationwide and was instrumental in the development of the largest sales agency of its kind ( non mlm) with more than 6000 reps.

You need to make them hungry, prove themselves, limit the offer...NOT convince them.. if you hire the ones you have to prod to apply, you will never hear from them post hire, beg them to produce and struggle to get off the ground.

There have been a few examples here that are good... essentially, Top Guns Only... submit resume... must have track record of success... etc etc

PM me if you ned help and good luck !
