Please help, I'm desperate for ideas!

Please help. I'm extremely desperate for ideas. I've tried my hand at blogging, affiliate marketing (still trying), the postcard advertising business, and etc., but I haven't really been able to succeed. Can you please give me some offline business ideas or products that I can actually sell?

I'm good at inside sales and enjoy talking to people. Having said that, what are some products or services I can offer to business owners? I am looking to establish a real sales company and possibly hire salespeople in the future?. So, what can I sell?

Send me a PM and I'll give you a company you should be able to sell the hell out of.

Go to homestead.com and get an acct. you may be able to get a free trial, etc.

But it's an intuit web template company that has some decent and professional templates. You can build virtually a ton of sites on one account.

Practice a bit until you feel comfortable and then sell those websites to small businesses.

You can even start out doing them for little or nothing and make them pay for hosting.

    Hopefully this helps.

    Best

Thanks Brik. I've thought about doing web design for the longest time and I have some decent computer/internet skills, but I've shied away because I always thought the industry was over-saturated and felt like nobody would buy my services due to the simple fact that I don't have a degree in computer science or any other "official" qualification for that matter.

  • Take a little time searching this forum. There were a few fantastic ones that had some great ideas. Wish I could find them again.

    EDIT:

    Found one: http://www.warriorforum.com/offline-...st-3years.html

    I really liked this one.

I think you need to likely work on your sales skills and not some magical product or service that you feel might be easier to sell. If you can get your prospecting, pitching, and closing skills up to par, you'll be able to sell whatever you want.

If you could sell anything at all, what would it be?

Hey Sue. If I could sell anything, it would have to be digital advertising, communications equipment, and other things along those lines.

You may want to read this thread. It is in the main forum but you will find a lot of offline ideas in here.

Way too broad, both areas. There's lots of help on here but you have to be more specific.

Sorry Sue. I guess since I haven't invested money into anything, my general rule is to start an inside sales company that doesn't carry an inventory. Basically I want to call a business, sell a product and be done with it. As an example, I call 200 people today and sell a new phone system and the client orders it through the website and that's that. Financially, I can't afford to carry an inventory. Also, if I'm gonna take the self-employment route, I want it to be really worth it. In five or ten years, I don't want to look back and regret career decisions I've made. So, for me, it's either make it real big on my own or take the corporate ladder route. I have to know within the six months or a year if I can succeed without much funding. If not, I'm definitely taking the corporate ladder route. This is why I don't know what I can sell or why it doesn't matter what I sell. I'm open to any suggestions.

So, I want to do inside sales and I can't carry an inventory. What can be sold?

Since you are OK with making phone calls to businesses, You can broker any kind of services to businesses and just be the middle man and not have to carry any inventory. Just broker and mark up the services they need

1 way is to go on fiver or on the warrior for hire section here and look for services you can resell to your local business owners

If I were you, I'd look at partering with Cisco or Avaya. That dosn't help with short term desperation.

You probably should refer to the desperation thread in the meantime.

What have you sold that you enjoyed and that would provide an income?

What products or services are needed in your area? (Have a chat with business
owners and the Chamber of Commerce president or director...)

Start with something you are familiar with. Likely easier
as it sounds like you will be learning how to run a business and hire and train....

You mentioned communications equipment - so how about computer and telephone and networking services and equipment for businesses?

On the other hand, if you just want to sell, how about becoming a manufacturer's rep
for lines you know about and which interest you?

Here's a often forgotten fundamental truth,
if you know how to add profit or takeaway loss to a business
by a means that they are unaware of...

and you know how to package it,
then you'll always be in demand.

Here's an example to lead you in the right direction...

Go to marketingexperiments.com and learn up about split testing.

Over 1,000 test results are available for free to study.

Even if you get a tiny bit of that hard-wired to your brain,
you'll know more than most who have been years in internet marketing.

Show a website owner which has a lot of traffic and sales,
how a few slight changes are highly likely to make a big difference to their
      bottom line.

Your intervention will be measured, therefore the results
will show up in days of the split test.

      Now you are the hero.

You become the person of high status.

This sets you up for long term wealth,
      not short term sketchy gains.

      Best,
      Ewen

It sounds like you want to do something that you have no experience with, namely running your own business... is this correct?

If so, you are heading down a very rocky road. Better off working in a potential industry first, and/or get a mentor. I've never worked with SCORE, but I've heard they can provide such help.

If not, then what do you see as the real problem?

Why do not you not just reverse your own question and do a little leg work, so instead of asking what can I sell, ask what are people buying, then from that list, tick of those that sales people talk with others / meets your skills (inside sales?), from that list start with one and learn to walk before you run.
