    Oh heck yes...

I don't know who wrote this. One of the numerous sales books I read suggested sending a Hula-Hoop with a note that said "This is just one of the many hoops I'm willing to jump through to earn your business!"

Always loved the concept. Not thrilled about giving the prospect that much power in the relationship.

This ball idea is awesome and I could see many creative marketing messages. Although I will say $16 + $4.50 shipping seems a bit steep for a 10" play ball. Then again, I haven't priced play balls in a while!

I'm on my way to Target right now. I'm going to do some recon!

  • Another good one to send is a coconut. The smooth ones, not the hairy version. Lots of word play and puns available when you send someone a coconut.

Marketing is not a battle of products. It is a battle of perceptions.

  • ...Just when I thought I had seen every possible type of "grabber"...

Now I can add balls and coconuts to the repertoire.

And it's not too difficult to think of the headlines...

For the chaps - Don't lose your balls...

For the ladies - Yes, you have got a lovely bunch of coconuts...

I don't suppose anyone has had the courage to use them...yet?

I was thinking more along the lines of "the perfect gift for men without balls" "get some balls today" "we know your lacking the balls to close more sales so we have sent you some more"

this part worried me though ?

NOTE: 2 or More Balls shipped to same address may NOT arrive on same day

if I shipped both of my balls on the same day and they did not arrive at the same time ?

Put a clear wrap on them to seal them together?

Tell the Post Office you have an over sized package, and you want special handling of your balls.
You may have to pay extra for it, but hey, who doesn't one way or the other?

Chad, yes grabbers do increase response rates. I've never mailed over a 100 grabbers at a time so take the data with a grain of salt, but Ive seen it more than triple response.

It's more than worth the cost when doing B2B.

I normally would send one or two plain post cards to skim the list for easy pickings and remove those from the list before getting into the $5-$10 mailings.

I've even spent upwards of $80 to get appointments with certain prospects using something that I heard Joe Polish talk about years ago.

Sending a golf shoe (or whatever they are into) and telling them if they want the other one you are free for lunch of Tuesday @ noon or whenever. I only did that once but it worked so I'm not sure why I never tried it again.

Anyway I would MOST DIFFERENTLY use grabbers but it wouldn't be the first thing I sent them. Again only talking about B2B here.

I think " Stop being screwed by stale, traditional marketing, with high costs and low ROI" would be more effective.
