Amazing. I like the idea of the strategy, I've used the free trial strategy before and I'd say 99% of the time it works. As long as you deliver the results you promise - the sale is yours!

How much is a new client worth to you?

I always use that question to sell my services to local stores.

I sell my services for 1200$.
It might seem high as price, but when the owner of a store say to me " A new client for my store worth 200$ every year " I reply with " Ok let's assume I bring you ONLY 10 new clients for this year... worth it? "

This is a question which helped me a lot to close conctracts...

    Thank you for the share.

    All the best.

    Luca.

If you mean $1200 per month, that doesn't make any sense, especially not knowing the average lifetime per client. Your fees for the year would be $14,400, and they'd make $2000 that year off the 10 customers.

The success story is great but:

I find it a bit troubling that you are basically spinning her own content and using that as material for your own then setting up an adsense campaign and driving traffic that way. What happens when a smarter client goes "So Aaron, can you show me exactly what you did so I feel comfortable with your methods?". Would you show her your technique without feeling like a used car salesman? When she realizes you are using her own content as yours then driving traffic to your site (not hers) to generate leads, i see warning bells going off. Sure, some clients might not give a damn about the how and may just care about the results but its a slippery slope. She may ask "why can't you just set up a paid traffic campaign for me and ill pay you to maintain that?".

Just some food for thought but congrats on the close.

I can tell you that 0% of business owners are going to care if you rewrote their own content and used it to get them sales. I feel you are highly over analyzing the situation. Just take action it will change your life in many ways.

Hypothetically, let's say a biz owner really said "why can't you just set up a paid traffic campaign for me and ill pay you to maintain that?" Simple, their conversions would be awful so you set something up that would convert. After all you only had 30 days to prove yourself.

Here is an update to the client, to let you all know how things are going.

So far I have sent her about 8 very targeted leads (which isn't a ton, but each one is worth 400-3000) through email and phone. She has already closed a few of them and so far she is extremely happy. There was a small issue, and that was that she was uncomfortable that we were not working on her MAIN site, which comes up when leasing sites to clients. I met with her and agreed that if she remained with me for 8 months I would give her the lead site we created for her. She was happy with that.

Things are going great and soon I will ask for referrals.

Aaron, thanks for your clear and detailed description of how you got this client. I hear several keys that match my experience. First, you didn't try to get the deal in the first meeting. It was a multistep process and you were patient. You also didn't try to "sell" her. You offered to "help" her. You waited until she was really interested instead of trying to convince her. And you took all the risk (although she had to put money in the game rather than you simply doing it for free).

      Nice job. Very helpful.

Awesome implementation of imperfect action! That's fantastic! Next month ask her for a referral to a Personal injury or bankruptcy attorney, If you can do it ask her to call or email the referral and introduce you. Play off egos and ask for help, lawyers like to think they can fix everything.

    Again awesome implementation!

here is what I said: "Ms. Client, I know these services can help you grow your business and get you to you goal of 5 clients per month (remember I asked her this in the initial meeting). In fact, I'm so confider that 'm going to offer you a risk free trial. If you give me $500, I will bring it at least one new client in the next month that will more than pay for itself."
Don't they ask what happened to the other 4 promised new clients?
