Small town direct sales domination

this has got to be possible

I live in Texas - there are so many small towns (population under 3,000) within, say, 200 miles of my location.

Here is the deal - the communities are close knit, so anything exciting travels through like wildfire.

I am going to take my direct sales products - most likely weight loss shakes and dominate these areas.

I am working on my game plan now, whether to approach with the consumable product as the main marketing focus, or the make money from home as the main focus. I do these things strictly for the money - but not everybody thinks like me.

I am thinking I will rent a space large enough to present, hotel conf. room or at a church or school/library - and flod the area newspapers, etc with ads about the upcoming conference

thoughts?

Before you do that, have a few distributors (I'm assuming this is MLM) in the little town. This way, they can help promote, and you'll have people there giving testimonials.

Right now, you are far more excited about this than anyone will be reading your ads. Don't invest money in ads or a location, until you have distributors.
Trust me, you'll be talking to a near empty room.

Nobody wants to go to these things just to hear you talk. You have to have ground swell. Some people already spreading the word. Some people already making money.

    Good luck.

    Thanks Claude -

I don't have any distributors in these small towns, that was kind of the idea

I get what you are saying, maybe a better approach is to leverage my existing distributors, some of them are bound to have family/friends in these tiny towns

Maybe an organic campaign inside my own group?

I am experienced in doing business in small towns in Texas. Folks are very friendly and the less 'salesy' the approach the better you will do.

I would get into town a day early and talk to locals at coffee shops, the hotel desk , Chamber of Commerce, IF they have one.. make friends and start inviting people..the first even may be small but word spreads..treat the people right and you will sell like crazy.... events like this in small towns are almost a form of entertainment like a church social

PM me if you need any help
